Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Lovely to ski in the neighborhood again. I'd rank the experience as skiable if you already love skiing, but not the place to bring someone who doesn't already love skiing. Classic tracks were in good shape 75% of the way, with some areas of ice and few small areas of bare grass but no exposed cart track asphalt yet. Expect some leaf and stick debris. Skate path seemed to have some frozen ruts. I figured it was a day for adventure and balance rather than speed.

Skated 7am for an hour. fantastic sections? Yes. Various states of natural snow? Yes. Crusty ruts? Yes. Ice under a thin layer of snow? Yes. Skiing around bare spots? Two. Challenging for my old man balance? Sometimes. Enough coverage to make it worth it? Yes.

Good conditions today. Performed a groom on both the skate and classic decks. Some ice spots and tree debris to be mindful of. Soft snow conditions and will continue as it warms up.Enjoy!

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Glad I went and it's skiable, but there's just not enough snow for good classic skiing. Track is shallow or undefined. A little bare grass and a fair amount of ice, either exposed or just underneath making it difficult for poling. However, skiing deck looked pretty good. (Maybe it's time for me to make the switch.).

Groomed, but soft in places. Ice underneath, but wasn't a problem. Very little debris. No bare spots. Not fast, but enjoyable.

Good snow, very little ice. But, still be mindful as we progress this week. No classic set on this roll groom today. Enjoy this sunshine!

Observation Scheduling
[ Trails: Closed ]
Unfortunately we will be closing the Highland-9 cross country ski trails due to the recent weather. We are unable to groom right now because there is bare ground showing and our groomer can not break up the frozen ice. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Yesterday's thaw and today's freeze weren't kind to the trails. They are still skiable but there are stretches of ice and most of the trail was rock solid. Classic tracks looked icy but intact.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The Highland 9 cross country ski trail was groomed today. All things considered, it is in better shape than expected. A new double classic track was put in, and the skate deck was groomed. There are a couple reroutes to get around some icy spots, and there are many bare spots. Come out and enjoy the sun!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied two loops around 3:30pm. Trails were fairly hard. There were some icy spots where the rain pooled and the tops of hills were thin with grass showing through. The classic tracks were in better condition than the skate deck. I was able to get an edge over most of the course skating but I had a better time double poling in the tracks.
