Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Just enough crust, plenty of coverage on High 9 and National. Soft drifts here and there to keep me humble. Higher up seems to be better.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Nice coverage with some ice or thin spots in the skier-made tracks (no grooming). Attempted to skate crust, and there was some but it was interrupted constantly by drifts of cold grabby loose snow. So wish I had brought classic skis too. Skier-made tracks were pretty darn nice most sections, a bit slow with cold loose snow, getting better as it got skied in.

A glorious ski by any standard, but certainly amazing for March 28. 99% snow coverage a few areas where compacted snow had frozen but easily skied around. The trails are not groomed but there is an excellent skier set trail which is now smooth enough for good glide. I did see a skater out, but one would need a high tolerance for soft snow to enjoy skating. I predict good crust skiing tomorrow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
No grooming but plenty of snow. Skied my best recollection of the typical loop. There were people arriving as I was leaving so hopefully some skier made tracks will get established before it all melts again.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Good morning from the Highland 9 grooming team. Very soft conditions today, with a thin skate deck. There are a few areas with exposure that will continue to grow throughout the day. A classic track was attempted; however, snow depth did not allow for it. Get out and enjoy it, it won't last for long!

Trail is rolled, no groom until tomorrow morning when the snow sets up a bit. Enjoy the snow, Cupid gave us a Valentine's gift!

And suddenly it's a snowy winter morning! The groomers rolled the 9-hole track and were working on the 18-hole when I left at 11 am. The deck is wide and loose with no tracks but lots of classic skiers are out making DIY tracks. Thank you groomers for getting out there so quickly! Go enjoy the sunshine.

Couldn't resist the fresh, real snow this morning! Trail was not groomed when I started but the 9-hole course had 4+ inches everywhere with deeper drifts in spots. One other person used my tracks to catch me before the groomer caught up to him. I am not sure what the groomer plans to lay out, but enjoy the real snow while it lasts!
