Good skiing -- better than I expected. The snow pack was soft (not hard and icy). There was also some new snow on top. Nice smooth skate skiiing. The trails have good coverage.

Got outside to Highland for a morning ski before the heat wave later today. Classic tracks were in pretty good shape! One or two grassy patches on the hilly areas. Thanks to the groomers for making the most of the snow, I had a wonderful morning out there!

Fresh tracks at Highland this morning. Groomer was freshening the skate deck as I left. I am very impressed with the grooming at Highland. They've made the best of minimal snow.

The little dab of snow we got is a mixed blessing: it covered up any icy spots, but when it drifted, it filled the tracks. As the tracks get more use, things should get better. Conditions very good overall. Skating deck was popcorn in many places, but looked very good overall, too.

The cross country ski trail at the Highland 9-hole Golf course this morning. The skate deck is a little thin but overall in good condition. A new classic track was set. Stay warm skiers!

Course could use a grooming and more snow. The skate deck looked icy and hard-packed and the classic track, while good in places, had some washouts as well. But, for getting out at the end of the day close to home for a few loops and a nice sunset, conditions were plenty good.

Skate deck is hard pack with some rutting, some icy sections and some small drifts of cold sugar. Hard to get an edge in some parts, but I'm a newer skater. Classic tracks are ok, with some glazed or icy sections and some drifted in with cold sugar. All is very well used and there are some grassy patches. Everyone do your snow dance if you haven't yet... and if you already started, keep dancing!

Freshly groomed. Excellent overall. Parks department has done a great job given the limited amount of snow. Classic track well-defined. Skating deck seems to get a lot more use, but it's still in great shape. A few grassy spots; not signifiant.

Quite pleased with the classic tracks on Highland today! A bit of a thin patch atop one hill, but snow coverage everywhere else was pretty good.
