Notes

Trails are on the golf course. Some nice hills but most of the course is pretty exposed. There is one back leg that is quite shaded and seems to hold snow long after the rest of the course loses it. Rentals at the chalet.

Como was packed and groomed today. Much needed snow! Skate deck and classic were put in. Skate deck is soft. Be mindful of some soft areas still. Enjoy the tracks!

Kudos to St Paul Parks and Rec ski groomers - although a bit icy after the current stretch of weather, skate loop was very skiable, classic do-able. A few bare patches. We'll be back after our next snowfall. Thank you!

Full coverage with a few dirt/grass patches. Very icy. Was able to get an edge, but control on the downhills was kinda sketchy. Tracks were shallow, but looked usable in most places.

I almost didn't ski today because of the high winds, but I'm glad I did. There were very few ski tracks ahead of me on the hard, icy corduroy with fresh snowdrifts blowing across the trail. Since I couldn't find a loop that had only tailwinds, I ended up skiing on the new mini-loop near the parking lot 12 times.

Groomed Como cross country ski trail this afternoon. Groomed up fairly well for how icy the deck was. Exposed grass and icy patches are out there but very skiable. 1 to 2 inch depth. Get it while you can.

I skied the classic trail next to the zoo (perpetual glacier). The tracks were filled with 30 millimeters of wind blown snow. Blue extra provide more than enough kick. The skate deck was very icy.

Almost perfect. The best conditions I've seen at Como since I can't remember when. There were a few spots where the groomer hit bottom, but they were all easy to ski around. Good to see lots of young people on the course. Thanks groomers!

The trail has firmed up and leveled out nicely after it was groomed. A new classic track was set with good depth throughout the trail. Looks like some nice days ahead!

It was probably very good to excellent before I got there, but it was getting more and more windblown as I skied. The skate deck alternated between scoured and drifted. The best part of the course, as usual, is the strip along the south side, where it is more protected by the ridge to the south. The crest of the big downhill coming out of the back bowl was fully covered though, so that was not the problem it often is.

Very good conditions. The deck is a little uneven and a bit soft in spots. As daylight burns down, it sure helps to have the back loop partly lit. Great to see the Como ski team getting out and being about it!
