Notes

Trails are on the golf course. Some nice hills but most of the course is pretty exposed. There is one back leg that is quite shaded and seems to hold snow long after the rest of the course loses it. Rentals at the chalet.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The trail has firmed up and leveled out nicely after it was groomed. A new classic track was set with good depth throughout the trail. Looks like some nice days ahead!

It was probably very good to excellent before I got there, but it was getting more and more windblown as I skied. The skate deck alternated between scoured and drifted. The best part of the course, as usual, is the strip along the south side, where it is more protected by the ridge to the south. The crest of the big downhill coming out of the back bowl was fully covered though, so that was not the problem it often is.

Very good conditions. The deck is a little uneven and a bit soft in spots. As daylight burns down, it sure helps to have the back loop partly lit. Great to see the Como ski team getting out and being about it!

Gorgeous grooming job at Como. I skated on a firm deck - a few ruts where a previous skater broke through, but overall super. Classic tracks are set - they look great.

Grooming

Good first groom out which included smoothing and widening the trail. A classic track was set and there is good snow base throughout the trail. Come out and enjoy.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Observation
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trail has been coarsely groomed. Base is still pretty loose with powder. No classic tracks set yet but grooming was still in progress as of 3pm, looked like they were going to roll the course. I was able to enjoy the course on classic skis.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Classic skied. Difficult to see where the trail is as it hadn't been groomed in some time but skate skiers had packed it down in some spots and was easy enough to figure out if you generally know the loop. There were no tracks but amazing coverage for early December and grateful for a 5K loop. Only one sketchy spot coming down the hill from the top near alpine area that has exposed pavement.

Good coverage, however it needs grooming. Very hard to see the trail and I ended up in deep snow off track a few times.

Overall it was a very good ski. There was plenty of snow coverage in most areas but It was hard to see where the trail was at times. It is definitely in need of another grooming! All the recent snow was sitting on the barely visible grooming from last week. There were some classic tracks visible along the trail but they were mostly filled with fresh snow.
