Notes

The Balsam Branch trails are open to the public for no charge. When there is snow, tracks are set by Polk County Park and volunteers. The trailhead parking area is always well plowed. Toilet facilities are available at the nearby Kennedy Environmental center but no coffee shop or warming facility. Roughly 4K of lighted trails added in 2010.

Firsthand: Classic 
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Good classic conditions this morning. Tracks set on about 50% of trails, all trails were groomed with corduroy. No rocks or sticks. Shout out to Greg who was grooming and putting more track down as I was skiing, thank you!

Firsthand: Classic 
[ B skis ]
Used junky classic skis and checked out the green/blue loops. Only the lighted loop has been rolled/groomed. Very thin still but should make a good base; some grass poking up in some areas but avoidable. No classic tracks have been set yet, for good reason.
