Trail Detail
Notes
A great mix of beginner and expert ski trails. With the inclusion of the Jerry Jolly Trails there is about 25 km groomed for skating and classic. There is also an additional 15 km of classic only trails. With views of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands, this is a very scenic area to ski. There is a nice lodge which sells snacks and food as well as a ski patrol and small downhill area.Trail Reports

Classic Tracks were reset on Anchor, Sugarbush, Abbey Road, Northern Lights (to the Summit), Seagull Classic, Oppedahl’s, and North & South Lower Sugarbush. 6-12 inch Base, conditions are excellent but it did snow 1-2 inches after grooming.

Beautiful conditions today. Skied most all trail segments this afternoon. Classic tracks were a couple of days old, but solid with a light dusting on the tracks. Glide was fast and kick was great on the flats, as well as ascending the hills. Skate deck was solid when descending hills. Overall, snow was firm and soft with minimal slough. With conditions like this it will be a great weekend to get out during the day, or with a head-lamp! Many thanks again to the dedicated volunteers grooming the trail in subzero temps! You make a huge difference in so many xc-skiers lives! Ski on.

Skied 48 km of trails today. Great new snow, turned messy by midday in most sections near the trailhead. Back trails okay. Everything needs to be groomed and tracked. Hopefully, good conditions tomorrow.

3-4 inches on the trails today. Not worth the fossil fuels to groom today as it is beautiful and this sun is exactly what everyone has needed after this last week!

We got 2 inches of light snow last night, on top of firm and level skate lanes and solid tracks. Nothing has been groomed since the snowfall, but the snow was light enough that it was easy to skate. Coverage is excellent, no concern about junk hiding below the fresh snow. This snow is just what we needed to freshen up! Beautiful and quiet!

Thursday morning skate lanes were groomed and tracks set on Telford, Beginners Loop, Anchor, Roller Coaster, Seagull, Seagull cut-off, Abbey Road, Northern Lights, and Buzz. The skate lanes are in excellent condition, flat and firm. The classic tracks are excellent to very good. Snow cover is very good, I didn’t see any thin spots today.

Classic skied most all trail sections today, the tracks conditions are great! Throughout the trails I skied -- glide and kick are solid. Noticed a few tiny dirty snow areas on Sugar Bush and Jolly's Loop, but these are easily avoidable. With great conditions, I look forward to a headlamp ski. Ski on!
