After Hours had about an inch of fresh snow on the skate lane. Tracks were skied in. Conditions were great with fast, but a bit sticky snow. The first segment of Sally's Classic from Balsam to Oak is closed.

I skied a short loop including Maple and Aspen. A ton of fresh snow over the past few days and all trails that I saw have been groomed (including classic tracks). Get out there any enjoy it!

DNR rolled the skate deck this morning; the skaters I saw were flying along nicely. The ski tracks were icy solid with some debris under conifer trees (especially White Pine and East/West Loops) and fast except for a section of White Pine (between Oak and So Loop) that were already softening in the sun.

Great snow and conditions despite 37 degree temps this afternoon. Still a lot of snow here. Recent grooming. Firm, fast classic track. Skaters I spoke with today also noted great skiing.

Trails were in the process of being groomed this morning as Joanie and I skied Sally's Classic trail and a variety of skate trails. The couple inches of fresh powder was welcome over the crusty base and the fresh groom made everything even better. Trails went from good to excellent during the grooming, but there was some minor debris on the trails from the gusty winds.

The trails appeared to have been fairly recently groomed and classic tracks were set. I classic skied, but the skate deck looked fabulous besides for some deer tracks and occasional debris.

Wonderful classic ski this morning around 11 am. The temperature was 6F. 1/2 inch of new snow on top of recently groomed trail, with occasional flurries and sun peeking through. Winter wonderland! Classic tracks were deep enough that the new snow just made for a softer ski, but it was still great. Thanks for the great grooming.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The classic trail was tracked today and all other ski trails are groomed and tracked but no tracks in the SW corner (Red Pine and Nebagamon). Expect a solid deck and track with occasional debris under the pine trees. The fat bike trail is groomed, very firm and riding great.

Skated Entry to Maple to Oak to White Pine to Little Joe to River and back on Aspen. Trails were in great condition with a firm deck but with debris in various locations. Weather was clear and sunny, right around 0 degrees. It was a wonderful ski!
