Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Nicolet North received 6 inches of wet, heavy snow this week. We groomed and set tracks on Pat Shay, Narrow Gauge, and Butternut. The trail is not wide enough for skate skiing. We had to use the smaller groomer with the higher temps and current snow conditions.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Nicolet North was groomed this morning. Tracks were set on all trails. The track setter was stuck in the down position on Butternut, Narrow Gauge, and a small section of Pat Shay, so we were unable to lift it on hills. We got about 2 inches of light snow this week. It freshened up the trails nicely. Strong winds today knocked down a fair amount of debris in some areas. Low temps should set the trail up nicely.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Nicolet North has been groomed and tracks have been set! We apologize for the gap in grooming. The cold temps and equipment failures kept us from maintaining the trail the past two weeks. Nicolet North looks the best it's looked all season! Butternut trail, connecting to the Anvil Trail system, has been groomed and tracks have been set. There is about a 12 inch base. Snow is dry and fluffy but has been setting up nicely with the extremely cold temps.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied from Nicolet North to Anvil, circled through the Lake Loop, and returned the same way. While they have been groomed earlier this season, nothing I skied on was groomed at the time of skiing. I moved some debris out of the way whenever possible. Nice base, just slow going setting my own classic track. There is one tree on the Pat Shay trail that will require a chainsaw (picture). Lovely outing. The forest is magnificent.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Nicolet North trails were groomed for classic skiing this morning. Tracks were set on Pat Shay, Narrow Gauge, and Butternut (Anvil connector). A small section on the West side of the Pat Shay loop does not have tracks. The track setter malfunctioned. The warm temps have packed the snow nicely. There is some debris in the trail. A lot of trees and branches fell in the last storm.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The storm on Sunday/Monday dropped more than 12 inches of snow and brought extreme winds. Expect limbs and trees to be down on the ungroomed trail. Our crew is currently working on clearing and grooming Anvil Trail. Grooming plans: Nicolet North will not be groomed or cleared until next week.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Nicolet North was groomed today. Tracks were set on most of the trail system. A few areas still don't have enough snow depth for tracks. There is about a 3 inch packed base. The Butternut connector between Anvil and Nicolet North was also groomed today.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Nicolet North received about 6 inches of dry sugary snow. We have rolled the Pat Shay Loop and Narrow Gauge Trails. Packed depth is about 3 inches. There is not enough snow to set classic tracks yet. Expect early season conditions with some debris in the trail. The Butternut Trail connector between Anvil and Nicolet North has not been cleared or rolled yet. We plan to roll and clear that on Thursday or Friday this week.
