Almost all the trails received a light scruff-up this morning, leaving some shallow cord. Skating is pretty fast. None of the classic tracks were touched.

The groomer made several passes on all the trails today, leaving shallow cord over a hard base--good speed with decent control. He made a few passes in the Bill Barry and Cheri Uelmen Skills Areas. The classic tracks weren't touched--last set early in the week. They range from washed out and shallow to deep and firm.

The groomer was just leaving at about noon today. All the trails have been groomed for skating and the deck is firm. The trails near the chalet had heavy use last night with Kickin Kids and CVN and he didn't groom those, so they are a bit chewed up. Classic tracks have been set throughout but are washed out near the chalet.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
As of noon the groomer had made several passes on almost all the trails. Skating is mostly firm and control is excellent. The snow is medium speed. A few classic tracks had been set but not through intersections or on hills. The new tracks seem shallow. Old classic tracks have been skied in and compacted.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The skate deck on all the trails got a light grooming today: a few passes of the groomer left a thin cord over a hard base. Not a lot of edging but enough, except for some thin spots on various hills. No new classic tracks set. They are quite worn near the chalet and the winds have pushed leaves into the tracks in some stretches throughout the system. I've downgraded the aki rating to B skis because of the thin spots and leaves/debris.

Not groomed but a recent fresh snow of about 1" made for great skating! Full coverage with had packed base and 1" new on top. If it were groomed, I would have rated excellent. In the afternoon took my 6 year old granddaughter out for her first trail ski. Put in 2.5 km striding in nice tracks.

Packed and tracked pretty well. Classic tracks looked set in almost all places. Very few thin spots; most hills has much better coverage compared to the last time I was out here. Rollercoaster still had some bare areas and a bit of debris, along with Snowdance/Cardiac climb. The Ruby downhill had thin spots, but seemed decent. Still plenty of places to use good skis if you avoid those areas.

Night
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Went to ski after a light snowfall. Trail was pretty well packed and tracked prior to the flurries, and the fresh powder only made for slightly slower skiing. Classic tracks were set. I used B skis because it was dark and I wasn't sure if I'd miss debris or thin spots due to the lack of light, but probably could have used good skis; just taking an extra precaution with low lighting and forgetting my headlamp anyway. It was a nice night ski, all in all!

Fresh cord on all the trails today. Skating is moderately quick on the cold snow. No thin spots. Many of the classic tracks were re-set today and the ones that weren't are still firm, but like the swallows to Capistrano, the oak leaves have returned to Tower Ridge. There are some "lurch" sections.
