I continue to be amazed how the groomers can make such little snow into such good skiing conditions. I found Silver, Red, Green, Blue, Brown, and 'lower Yellow' all to be in quite good shape. Purple was probably in the best overall condition. Definitely a few icy spots on the trails with 1-way Blue down being a bit of a surprise.

The skate deck on the silver trail was groomed today. A few icy spots in the open field before crossing Nelson Farm road otherwise the silver is in good shape.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The skate lane was groomed on all trails except Silver. Classic tracks were reset on Red, Brown, Purple, Green, and Blue. The majority of the tracks are shallow. The chronic icy spots are still there, with the worst being the bottom of the two-way large hill on Yellow and a section of Orange right near the spur into the park garages. I would not recommend skiing Orange. One hill is definitely not skiable. The remaining trails groomed up fairly well, but there is a fair amount of popcorn snow rather than all corduroy. I would use B skis due to ice and occasional dirt spots.

The groomers have done an amazing job stretching out the little snow we have had to make the WRSP trails as good as they are. I found Red to be fully skiable - albeit with a few of the open sections being a bit windblown with snow and some of the hills having exposed ice. The wooded areas were good. The large 2-way hill on Yellow has a lot of ice. I was able to ski up - but would not try going down. The rest of Yellow is in pretty good shape. Orange is difficult coming out of the West side of the woods. The hill there is all ice and not skiable (IMO)...and there are some dicy icy sections as you ski West toward Brown. The Blue 'loop trail' is in generally good condition - especially the 1-way up - and the campground loop trail (Green) is quite good condition too.

Skied the flat trails below the beach lot by the bridge. They were surprisingly good! Other than a few spots where you could see ice under the thin snow, the trails had enough tilled snow to get a good push. The glide was what you'd expect on such a cold day. Essentially, there was full snow coverage. And, what I consider a major improvement for the Willow trails, there were no boot prints on any of those trails! It was all skier use. All in all, it was a very lovely ski on a crisp sunny winter afternoon.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All trails had the skate deck redone. Classic tracks were reset on yellow, red, silver, and some of green, purple, and blue. Tracks varied from shallow to full depth. Due to the wind, some sections are blowing back in. Green is still very icy from the nature center to the boat landing, and orange has some large sections of ice near the turn-off to the garage, including the short downhill, which is un-skiable.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The skate deck was groomed on all trails today. The park had about 1.5" of new snow. Based on grooming results, red and silver have the best conditions with the least ice. The camground loop and parts of bliue and upper yellow are also very good. The big 2-way hill on yellow has ice near the bottom. Green still has the most ice from the nature center to the boat landing. Classic tracks are still there in most places but there is not enough snow to re-track.

I classic skied both the Red Trails on Saturday. The trails themselves were in a lot better shape than I expected after all the warm weather and I enjoyed my time out there. The only warning is many of the uphill areas were very icy so you will want to slow down and look for areas that have some snow.

The last two 40 degree days have significantly softened trails to soft Spring-like conditions. Silver, in the woods, has a soft top, firm base, and is quite consistent. 2-way Blue is icy and likely (for me!) more safely poled than skated. The one-way up on Blue is in great shape. So too is the Green to Yellow to Brown connection. Brown was consistent - albeit a bit slower than normal. Purple to the Silver bridge has just enough snow on top of the ice for skating. The Silver prairie, East of Nelson Farm Rd. is beginning to melt away. Thanks to the groomers for making the XC ski joy of this season a reality!

I skied 6 miles on the Red trails(inner and outer loops) on Sunday. I was pleasantly surprised how good the classic tracks were. Testament to the work the groomers are doing, so Thank you!,
