Trails are in good condition with a fair amount of debris but very skiable considering our limited snow and the rain last week. I used my rock skis but B skis would be ok. Thanks groomers! My stainless steel insulated "bivo" brand water bottle went missing from the snow bank right in front of my car parked in the lower lot. If you happen to find it please turn in to the park office with my name on it.

Skied most of the system (15k) in the classic tracks and it was very fun. The tracks were not re-set after the thaw but they had just been re-set deep and firm just before the thaw and they made it thru intact. And, the light snowfall from Thursday night covered the tracks completely and my waxed skis kicked really well. However, there were leaves in the tracks too and in maybe 10% of the time I jumped onto the adjacent deck which was soft and granular to avoid getting leaf residue in the wax. Tomorrow I will use my waxless to avoid the leaf problem.

Trails were ten times better than I expected. Started on the purple trail the first picture shows the classic tracks I was on. I then skied Silver (big hill in second picture) to the Falls, then the blue down to the campground. Then took the yellow trail to the red trails. Didn't hit all of the red as I took the brown trail back to purple. There was just enough snow on the deck that going down the bigger hills was controllable. I did hit 16.85 mph at one point, but never felt out of control. The only real icy spot was the hill by the falls as the hikers have compacted the snow to ice so be extra careful there.

The skate deck was groomed on all trails today. Conditions vary from smooth corduroy to a more crumbled popcorn surface. Some tree debris from the high winds. Classic tracks were not reset and have a thin layer of new snow in them. Fair amount of leaves in the tracks in places. I skate skied all the trails except silver and it was very good with purple and green being the smoothest.

Icy! Yesterday's warmth as made for very icy conditions today. Skied the silver trail loop. Conditions were a little better in the open/meadow areas.

Skied the South side trails. All were, as reported, freshly groomed on a nice hard back. The snow was definitely softening in the 45F and sun - especially in the open areas. I was pleased to see the trails now signed as only open to skiers. So thankful for the groomers efforts. Looking forward to trying Silver in the near future.

While all trails are open to skiing (and hiking), gun deer hunting is still open north of the river and on parts of the Red and Orange trails. Those trails have been rolled in preparation for grooming and tracking on December 16 when hunting closes. At that time we will also post ski trails as closed to hikers.

So thankful for the excellent grooming and the 6" of additional snow. Wonderful conditions. Good skis can be used. I skate skied purple (including the extra loops), green, purple, half of yellow and brown. Wonderful. Hoping the rangers will close the ski trails to walkers soon. Enjoy!
