Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Anyone not at the Birkie should consider Hoffman! Dan and I groomed, tracked and then skied this afternoon. Skate lane was firming up and classic skiers were moving with ease. Skating was not as slow as I thought it would be. Everything is groomed and tracked except for the Plantation trail.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed about half of Hoffman this morning and set new track. A fair amount of corn snow where the sun did it's warm weather work. Tracks vary from ok to very good. Even the dusting of snow predicted on Sunday would be welcomed. Still full coverage, a few thinner spots, some leaf debris. Will finish grooming all by early Saturday morning. Should be a great weekend of skiing at HH. Picture is on Logging Road trail.

Evening
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails groomed between yesterday and this evening with about 50% of them re-tracked. Those not re-tracked are in very good shape. The inch of snow on Wednesday produced very nice results. I skied most trails over the past two days until dark finding that trails were smooth, solid and relatively fast!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Hoffman Hills received about 3 inches on Saturday and it was groomed and tracked this morning. Skate and track lanes look great! Should be best conditions of the season now! Some touch up work remains but lost of skiable terrain right now!

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Sunrise at Hoffman this morning. All trails except Plantation (to much risk of getting stuck in deep snow and steep hill) rolled, groomed and tracked. Firming up, very enjoyable ski. A few remaining foot prints from hikers but most of them groomed out last night.

Evening
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed all trails today for skate and classical after the 3 inches we received yesterday. The skate deck is in great shape and should set up well over night. Good skis should be fine for the majority of the skate course. The only thin spot is the steep section into the parking lot from the south east under the pines (intersection 20 to parking lot - see map for Hoffman Hills). The classic tracks are in good shape for the most part. There are very few sections that present with leaves/dirt and should be easily navigable. Enjoy!

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Rolled yesterday and groomed this morning. Groomed all except roller coaster with at least one pass, about half have two passes, set a track. Good skis if you are careful, and, avoid the first 1/8th mile or so of trails around main parking lot (just not much snow there to work with). A few spots have debris that was churned up especially around erosion control "bumps", easy to avoid. Track has debris in spots and is shallow. Overall should be really decent!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
After skiing Hoffman Wednesday afternoon I feel conditions are good enough to use B skis. Only the pine grove areas were troublesome to ski through. Worked on grooming a few of the trails Tuesday afternoon but decided to leave good enough alone as the groomer worked up debris in spots. Both rolled and groomed areas were very skiable with some uneven spots. The plan is to finish rolling and try some more grooming today.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Rolled about 75% of the trails on Saturday. Base is thin with debris especially in pine grove areas. I'd stay away from the biggest hills. Will try to do some grooming as time allows and then file another report.
