Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Mercer received approx one inch of snow which mixed in well with our existing base. Tracks were reset and the skate lanes were combed, conditions are very good. Winds are currently at 20 mph which are causing some drifting. Grooming plans: Groomers will be out tonight/tomorrow morning to address drifting issues.

Chilly day, but the fresh snow on the trees was beautiful. Looked like the trails had received about an inch of fresh snow. Trails are well maintained, well groomed, and wind through some spectacular scenery. This might be the most scenic trail system in the Northwoods. Very nice warming cabin at the trailhead. Trails range from family friendly easy ones to more challenging, hilly ones. If you are looking for a great trail to try, this is well worth your time.

Good classic tracks. Fast and firm. Occasional thin track areas easily avoided. Skate lane looked a little soft but I didn't skate.

Mercer received 3" of new wet snow. The trail was groomed and a solid track ran the whole trail. Skied Wolf, Moose, Spruce Hills, Homested, Bluebird, Otter, and Voss Lake loop. The trees were covered in white and the trail was in the best shape all year. Had the trail to myself. What a hidden gem of a trail.

Wonderfully freshly groomed and tracked trails. The tracks were full depth throughout except for a very few places. The skate lane was wonderful as well. The warm trailhead cabin is nice for changing clothes and just warming up. This place is a favorite of mine because of the beautiful wooded terrain that is perfect for xc skiing and great grooming.
