Trail Reports

2020-2021 season
Reports 9 to 18 of 49    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I started skiing around 11:00 am and finished about two hours later after skiing all the trails at Mecca for a total of 20 K. The skate deck had been groomed this morning. Overall conditions were good and speed on the skate deck was moderate except where the trail was exposed to the sun. As a result, you had to stay on your toes and anticipate a slow down in the exposed areas which made things a bit tricky. Conditions were better wherever the deck was firmly compacted even in the sun. In areas where the surface was not so well compacted, the track was soft and slow. Temperatures had warmed to around 44 F by the time I finished.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We've had extremely cold conditions since Saturday.  Trails were groomed on Feb 5 and the plan is to groom again on Friday.  Trails are in good condition except for drifting in the field near the chalet and in the open areas of the Little Turtle Flowage Area.
