Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied the hilly trails at the top of the map. Corkscrew and outer loop. Saw a beaver lodge on the outer loop by the bridge. Good coverage except a little dirt on the uphills and a few sticks in the classic tracks. Very beautiful but cold day out skiing to start the year.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I skied the outer loop and then ridge and corkscrew. Coverage was pretty good but it was a bit soft and undulating. Could use good skis with some caution around dirty spots.

Excellent trails at Timberland. All groomed and tracked and in good condition, a few stones and sticks and thin spots - can get around them easily. Tracks were in great shape!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Conditions are marginal. The snow is thin with rocks, grass, and debris. You can ski if you want to, but definitely rock skis only and use caution. The snow we received was fluffy without much moisture. We groomed the following trails: Lighted Trail, Short Loop, and Alternative Trail. They are packed but no tracks are set.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
I skied today, decided on classic since the skate deck was a bit soft yet. I did the Engagement loop, outer loop to Corkscrew. The 2k of the outer loop was the worst I did for coverage, lots of places to nick up skis there. I decided not to do the entire outer loop because of that, the Corkscrew was generally better. I had glanced at the Alternate Trail, which I ended up taking around to get more k in. It had the best snow coverage, very few places were bare at all. I would definitely recommend that trail (I did much but not all of it) - maybe even B skis would be ok on that. Smooth trail overall, though lots of dirt/leaves in places.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We didn't get as much snow as areas just to our south, but we got enough to open the trails. All trails were groomed for skating and classic on Saturday. There is plenty of good skiing, just watch for occasional thin spots and rough areas. Enjoy!
