Hats off to the Timberland groomers for outstanding conditions! Perfect classic tracks and a beautiful solid skate deck. They sure were on top of that new snow, and this trail system is well worth planning a stop at on your way to or from Hayward. Be sure to bring some cash for the donation box - this kind of grooming needs our support.

What a great day to ski at Timberland Hills. Fresh set tracks with great kick. Did the outer loop. There were a couple sticks and leaves on the trail from the big winds from yesterday, but over all a wonderful day of skiing. Kudos to the groomers!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
New classic tracks have been set on the entire trail system today, and skate deck on some sections. Large wind debris has been removed; you will still see some sticks and leaves. Ski conditions are very good overall. Have fun!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Conditions are very good for classic and skating with a coating of fresh snow last night. Today we groomed the skate deck on all trails at the main trail system. A few sections got new tracks, but most were left as is to be skied-in with the new coating of snow. Have fun!

I skated out at Timberland and found the conditions were very good. After the area received a few inches of new snow, the trails were recently tracked and groomed for skating. There was very good coverage. The trails were firm and level with solid pole plants. The classic tracks looked firm and relatively deep. The warming house is open...Bundle up and enjoy!

Not freshly groomed, but firm. Trails are fast, with an inch of snow on top. Alternative Trail is a bit rougher than the others. Some twig and leaf debris, but not too bad.

Morning
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The trails received about a half inch of powdery snow over the weekend and a lot of ski traffic. The new snow is skiing in nicely in both the classic tracks and skate deck. The base underneath is on the thin side but very firm. We will evaluate additional grooming later in the week; for now we are leaving it as is. Conditions are quite good and fast currently. I skied the Outer Loop this morning and there are only a few thin spots to watch for.

Conditions are holding up very good for both classic and skating throughout the trail system. Very nice skiing the last few days. We could use some fresh snow so you will notice some tree debris and a couple of avoidable thin spots. The Timberland Groundhog saw his shadow today and is forecasting 6 more weeks of winter.

Definitely worth the drive to get in my distance training. Conditions were excellent. Some dirty areas especially on the outer loop by creek area. I could mostly avoid the random oak leaves. Met the groomer who was heading out as I left. Beautiful trails!
