Trail Detail
Notes
Beginner to expert trails. Up, down, turns, mixed stands of forest and clearings provide an exciting terrain for the skier. The flow of the trail is Swedetown's specialty. The trails are groomed daily for skating and striding. 4 km of trails lighted until 8 p.m. Host to the annual Great Bear Chase in March.Trail Reports

Great skiing continues at Swedetown. They groomed and set track on trails except Relentless, Powderhouse, and the Bears. Strong winds have brought down a bunch of tree debris (and trees as evidenced by sawdust and recent chainsaw activity) and I have recommended B skis because of debris, not base. I skied everything that was groomed and the base is still good. Glad we made the trip over.

I was able to get the Husky out this morning to grind up this icy stuff and make some excellent spring ski trail for you. Both tracks and skate deck have been tilled and reset after the snow cooled down and set up, so conditions are suitable today for all skill levels of skier. It was slow going, but I was able to groom Lens, Tiger, Cedar, Tamarack, Birch, Eds, Pine Ridge, Valley, and one pass around Greenstone. Grooming plans: the remaining trails will be groomed tomorrow.

Perfect conditions for today's Easter Bunny Hoppet! Fast fun lots of racers enjoying all the great grooming and snow! The conditions at Swedetown were really excellent with clean firm enough corn snow to ski on.

Great trails, excellent snow, superb grooming. I skate-skied due to concerns that snow might stick to skin-skis, but others were classical skiing with skin skis and reported no sticking.

Due to its proximity to the big lake, Swedetown has been spared from most of the effects of the recent warm-up. Everything (including a couple inches of fresh powder) was freshly groomed today, and conditions for both skate and classic were great. And we still have plenty of snow as is evident from the picture.

The Swedetown trails are still going strong and show no signs of stopping! The sun came out when I began, but it was never too warm to really affect the trails. The classic tracks were just the right amount of slick, and the skate deck looked firm. They do an incredible job grooming here.

Having fun at Swedetown! After hosting in the chalet and meeting a lot of visitors on Wed and Thur, I got out on the trails with them today. Perfect conditions. A great day to glide along and focus on form. Thanks to all who visit us!

Newly groomed tracks and skate deck made for a perfect day, despite the above 32 degrees. Great kick on my skin skis. Tons of snow in Calumet!
