Trail Reports

2020-2021 season
Reports 21 to 24 of 24    Month: Apr | Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec

Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All ]
The crew was on the trails early this morning rolling and packing the wonderful snow we received yesterday. Packing a good base is imperative so that we may begin grooming and setting classic tracks. Please remember the snow cover is thin at best and the condition of the trails is poor with rocks poking through and hidden under a thin layer of very dry snow.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Upper trails are lumpy but skiable. Infinitely better than not skiing, I would say. The only section I would avoid is the northern portion of Isle Royale around where it crosses the pipeline. Too many little rocks poking out there. The wide, straight section of Isle Royale between "main street" and the High School is really good, so I'd recommend doing a few out and backs there if you want to get your ski legs back. Superior loop is also pretty good, as is Oak. Otherwise, you can pick your line and be pretty confident about keeping your bases in shape. B skis if you got 'em. No tracks.

Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Sunday night’s snowfall is a welcome sight. As the day progresses we will roll the rest of the trails. Again please remember the snow cover is thin at best and the condition of the trails are poor with rocks poking through and hidden under a thin layer of very dry snow. Please be aware of grooming equipment on the trails. All trails are open for use but please be aware of very poor, early season conditions.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
We are currently packing the snow that fell over the weekend with rollers. We are focusing our efforts on the trails that a have a good base of grass in an effort to limit the damage to our grooming equipment as well our visitors skis. All the trails are open for your enjoyment but please be aware of very poor, early season conditions.
