Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Daily grooming in the morning has made for terrific skiing, especially skating, at the Arb. A few bare ground and icy areas, but where there is snow it is good. Classic track ranges from good to poor depending on sun exposure. Lights are now off for the season.

It's March skiing -- way too warm for any hope that the snow will last. We groomed this morning but expect temps in the 40's today. Get out here while you can. Big Ben trail has bare spots. Trails deep in the trees are pretty good. High traffic corners are getting bare. Icy in the mornings, soft by afternoon. Will groom again tomorrow and will reset tracks. Good luck and good skiing.

Great conditions at the Arboretum. The trails were freshly groomed in the morning. We were out for at least two hours and got in about 9 miles. It started snowing lightly and the tracks got a little sticky, but not terrible. Go now!

Trails were in great shape today with very few icy spots, felt like fresh snow most places. Tracks were solid and in excellent shape.

Mike is grooming this morning. Skate lanes are firm and feel like they are in good shape. Classical tracks that have been here a while are a bit icy but groomer is out setting fresh, deep tracks. Wear sunscreen!

We finally have what appears to be a Winter Wonderland! Everything that needs to be covered by snow is covered, the trails are in great shape. Track setting looks great and was a lot of fun to ski on. Thank you to everyone involved in making this such a nice area to ski!

Trails were awesome! Some of the best skiing of the year so far! Amazing job keeping the trails top-notch!! Could barely even tell there had been snowmobiles through. Hats off to the groomers! Classical tracks are firm and fast, and the deck was perfect! Went all around the perimeter for a 5mi ski at sunset, and even the wind held off.

Combined over the last few days we have gotten about 8-10 inches of heavy, wet snow on the trails. Our groomer has been working for 6 hours rolling the trails and setting the tracks. Unfortunately, we had some snowmobiles enter the Arb from the north end of the property and ride down trails and into wetland areas. Mike, our wonderful groomer, has done a remarkable job of repairing trails. All trails are open. Firm skate lanes. Set, deep classical tracks.

Grooming

4-5 inches of new heavy, wet snow overnight. Groomers have been out and rolled. We are experiencing more heavy snow coming down now with potential for more. Skate lanes have been set. Groomer will set classical tracks in the morning or after snow lets up. Very windy. Parking lots are icy.

A million thanks to the grooming crew for making the best with what has proven to be a difficult winter with freeze/thaw cycles. I had an excellent ski playing on both skate and classical tracks. The classic tracks are fast and fun. I used a universal klister and it worked fine even for the variable conditions encountered in protected vs. sunny areas.
