Notes
This is a system of classic-only trails made up of ever increasing inter-connected loops through some of the loveliest country in the Midwest. Very hilly -- intermediate to advanced skills recommended.Trail Reports

We're ringing out 2025 with some good grooming news! The 2k, 4k, 7k, and 11k were all groomed today with a classic track. There are a few twigs here and there, but the tracks are adequate in most spots, just a few shallow spots where the tree canopy is thick. The 16k and Rock Lake Loop have not been cleared of trees, but that leaves a rustic, backcountry experience for adventurous skiers. Enjoy and Happy New Year!

After a full week of clearing trees and debris off the trail we were able to get some of the loops opened up. The 2K, 4K, and 7K all have been cleared, packed and tracked. There was roughly 15-18" of snow that was worked into the trail. The tracks came out looking very good given the debris that was in the trail and should set up nicely for the weekend. You will hit that debris in the trail, especially where the deer have been trying to dig up acorns. But compared to the last three Decembers, we are starting off the ski season strong! The 11K, 16K, and Rock Lake loops have not been cleared yet.

Forest Service employees started clearing trees on the Rock Lake trail system last week and have now cleared the 2k, 4k, and 7k loops. These loops have been packed with snowmobiles making a nice base for the grooming season. Tree clearing began on the 11k today, but work is slow going.
