Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Rock Lake had received a couple more inches of new fluffy snow. We regroomed and set tracks on the whole trail system today. A special thank you to volunteer groomer Dave for helping us out with grooming today in the cold! We were able to get the uphills a little wider for those tough climbs up with skis on. The classic tracks are in excellent shape, and the snow base is as deep as its ever been in December! Get out there and enjoy this beautiful area. What's your favorite loop?

Rock Lake received an additional 6" of snowfall which brings the total to just a bit below ridiculous for December. All the sections of trail were groomed and tracked and it's looking very good out there. Special thank you to our new grooming volunteer Dave, who came out and helped get the trail ready for the weekend. Please use caution at the Rock Lake Rd crossings on the 7 Km and 11 Km loops, as there are logging trucks hauling wood out of that area on the road. Come on out and enjoy this "classic" trail system.

We skied out of parking lot on a freshly rolled trail (no tracks) and the first tracks set were on the small Rock Lake spur. But the upper end (16k loop) was tracked down to the first cutoff, where for some unknown reason the groomer followed the cutoff back to the one-way outbound trail, leaving us to flounder in 5" of fresh fluff. So skiing was not great today, but the groomer said they would finish the entire system today.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Rock Lake received 8 more inches of beautiful snow. The trail was packed and all loops were groomed Tuesday. The tracks and trail are in excellent condition. Please use caution at the Rock Lake Rd crossings on the 7 Km and 11 Km loops, as there are logging trucks hauling wood out of that area on the road. The road has been plowed, so there is a bit of berm to go over to get back on the trail. Enjoy!

First time here, very nice deep woods single track. Tracks were set well on this twisty up and down trail. The tracks were glazed from the mist/rain we were getting. Lots of snow on this trail, enough for regrooming the tracks.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Rock Lake trails were packed and had several trees cleared off the trail earlier this week. I was able to get out this afternoon and groom the 2 Km, 4 Km, 7 Km, and 11 Km loops this afternoon. I did not have time to groom the Rock Lake loop or the 16 Km loop, although they were cleared and packed. The 11 Km loop tracks are in fair condition due to only have time to go around that loop once with the groomer, so the tracks are a little uneven and bumpy in places. The 2 Km and 4 Km loops are in really great condition, and the snow base is about 6-7 inches. I hope you can get out this weekend and enjoy the trail. The Forest Service will regroom the whole trail system next week.

Rock Lake trails received about 24 inches of snow during the week of Thanksgiving. The trailhead parking lot was plowed yesterday, and the Forest Service will be working on the trails this week to get the snow packed and the trail groomed. This is a lot of snow to deal with at once, and we appreciate your patience while we work to get the trail in tip top shape for skiing. We will post updates as soon as we are done grooming.
