It was our first time at Cottage Grove Ravine but it won't be our last. There were enough big uphills for a good workout but no scary downhills, just as I like it. I skated and my partner did classic, and it was great for both. Perfect snow that looked like it had been groomed this morning, and perfect weather! There were a few walkers on the trails, but not enough to really mess things up.

I went out for a Birkie tune-up this morning and the conditions were fantastic. The park had groomed the new snow earlier this morning, and a classic track has been set throughout the system. The snow was soft and a bit slow, but firming up nicely. Hopefully the weather continues to cooperate so we can enjoy these conditions for awhile.

Best conditions this season. Skate deck is perfect throughout. Full depth classic tracks in most areas and shallow ones in other areas but they still were devoid of debris and leaves. I used my best skis with no worries about damage.

Great coverage through most of the trails - I ski here about every other week and trails are in the best condition they've been all winter! Guessing from trail conditions the trails haven't been groomed since Monday. There's a couple uphills where dirt is showing through, all avoidable. Some trails are showing signs of hikers, most of them are closer to the visitor center (green loop and trail parallel to walking path). The snow is packed down enough though that it didn't really impact the ski deck. Only spot that was a little icy was the section in front of the lake, just NW of the fishing dock.

The trails were in good condition and the groomers continue to do a great job! Snow coverage is excellent throughout the entire course. Classic tracks are set on part of the course, but not on the red loop, which is the outer loop that most skiers use, so hopefully they will be set soon.
