Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We received about 2 inches of dry snow overnight. Groomed the golf course and everything out to 9K today, including Main Street. Everything groomed up very nicely with a smooth skate deck and nice classic tracks. Note: Beyond 9K, it is still skiable, but there are 2 inches of dry snow on top of the packed base.

Skate skied from the golf course to the north end. Nice skiing all the way! Fresh cord up to 15k, north of that there was about 1 inch of fine silky snow on top of a firm base, all good skiing. Classic track looked good.

Skate skied from the golf course out to 9k this afternoon. Met the groomers on the trail as they were finishing up. The skate lane is getting better with each pass of the groomer. The trail is getting firmer and more level but still has some bumpy and soft spots. Classic tracks look good.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed the skate lane from the golf course to 9k. Also set track in certain areas where needed. Then I went for an afternoon ski myself. The skate lane is starting to firm up nicely, still a little soft or bumpy here and there but much improved over where it was a few days ago. This is the 4 th consecutive day that the groomer has been out. The entire trail system is open.

Skied west from the golf course to Sullivan Spring Rd. Nice skiing for this time of year. 100% coverage, skate deck mostly level but is bumpy and lumpy in some spots. Mostly firm but there are soft spots too. Classic track is full depth. Most areas freshly groomed but some areas were groomed yesterday or the day before.

[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Skate skied late afternoon. The trail is well covered and the skate deck looks good but is soft. Some sticks and twigs on the trail. The classic track is full depth. The groomer was coming back as I was finishing my ski and told me he'd back out tomorrow.

With warmer temperatures (35 deg F), there was some softening of the skate deck and the shaded areas must have picked up a quarter-inch of snow and helped the grip. The classic tracks had been skied on and looked pretty good except for the occasional debris (leaves, twigs). Where the skate deck was flat and with little debris it was good going, but that would get interrupted at times by debris, off-camber surface and crowing on the trail. Was able to go around the beginner loop once. Did some stick flicking along the way and cleared a branch bunch off the trail just past the selfie stand at the beginner loop / Old 32 / Golf Course trail. The trail has a good base, just need additional snow. Still had fun. The classic tracks may provide an enjoyable ski.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
We cleared down trees and rolled and combed the trail from the golf course to the north end at County Hwy F. Coverage is pretty good but the skate deck is pretty lumpy and bumpy in places. W need more snow to fill in those rough spots. We did not touch the classic tracks which are set from the golf course to 9K.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Skate skied the golf course and out to the 9k loop, which is the portion of the trail currently groomed. The trail had mostly good coverage with a few dirt spots here and there. Skate deck is undulating due to underlying uneven base. Classic tracks are set. Overall not bad for early season.
