[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
What a wonderful day of skiing at Lakewood. We classic skied from Old 32 to Smyth Rd. and back. The tracks were rock solid and very fast, but not icy. There were many leaves on the trail, but we used our skin skis and it wasn't an issue. It felt good to be out on good snow.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied the entire length of the trail including the golf course and out to the north end. Good to very good skiing throughout. The south end had more cord and the middle had more skied in areas but the skate deck throughout was firm and level. The classic tracks looked good but had quite a few leaves in them in some areas.

Beautifully groomed trail at Lakewood! Strided pretty much the entire network in 5 degrees under a clear blue sky. The tracks north of Old 32 had much more pesky wind debris than heading south! Skate deck looked perfect throughout! Carpe Skiem!

Skied from the golf course out to the 13K marker. The skate lane was firm and level, cord in some areas and about an inch of granular snow on a hard base in other areas. Classic track looked good throughout. The trail is in very good shape.

Arrived at Lakewood at 11:00 a.m. and got off the trail at 1:30 p.m. Trail was in Great shape for classical and skating. Just a couple leaves in the classic track. We went from the old 32 parking lot and did the whole loop to the north and back. Worth the trip!

Started at old 32 trailhead at 1:15. Skated to the north end and back then did the golf course loop to complete the trail. Temp was 16°F when I started and dropped down to 13 by the time I was done. The trail set up nicely with the low temps from the night before. Fresh cord was still available at both the north end loop and golf course loop but the snow in the middle was the fastest being slightly more transformed. Stiff skis with a cold grind ran superb on the hard packed trail. Skating was fun but the classic skiers out probably enjoyed even better conditions in the cold weather. Solid track throughout but the PB-set track on the gold course loop was pristine. First pic is just south of Sullivan Springs Rd and second one is from golf course loop.
