Grooming Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All sections groomed and set with single track. We are putting conditions at very good except for the golf course that is in fair condition. The trail was groomed today with exception of the far north section. That was groomed yesterday and has 2 inches of fresh powder on it. I talked to a few skiers today and they think we have mid-season conditions. There are a few hidden rocks. So, we suggest B skis.

Skied the golf course, to the Old 32 parking lot and out to about 9k. The trail in the woods is near to midwinter conditions with nice cord and a firm and flat skate deck. The classic tracks look good too. The golf course is thin with some grass poking through here and there.

Skating done from golf course to Sullivan Springs Road, 0–11 K, but not the biggest hills behind the golf course. Snow was falling with a total accumulation of 3 inches. Plenty of coverage throughout the trail. The previous classic tracks were getting filled. Negligible debris on the trail surface.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Nature delivered an unexpected present today at Lakewood: A fresh 2+ inches fell this morning while I classic skied from the golf course to the Old 32 parking lot and back. Just perfect! Tracks are cut, but now snow filled. All wind debris from last week is now covered. Best conditions are in the woods. Give yourself an early Christmas Present and go ski Lakewood! Carpe Skiem!

Skated all segments between McCauslin Brook and Sullivan Springs Road under light overcast conditions and 27 degrees. Trail has been well used since last grooming. Full coverage. Used B skis due to manageable wind debris. Classic skiers will enjoy 1/4-1/2 depth firm tracks. Worth the drive. Carpe Skiem!

We skied there on Saturday and Sunday and found, overall, good conditions. A little bit of grass on the golf course, and some leaves/debris in the woods but overall great skiing. Thankful to go here since we've got nothing in GB. If you want to master the hills, this is the place :) carpe diem Birke.

[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Skied from the south end of the golf course out to Sullivan Springs Road (11K). Very nice skiing with a firm base, the fresh snow from yesterday was groomed in, and there were fewer sticks on the trail. A classic track had been set.

Skate skied early this morning from old 32 to the golf course and back to the first road crossing past old 32 and back. Didn't ski the big hills by the golf course. Was pleasantly surprised by the conditions. I wasn't sure the drive up from appleton would be worth it. Snow cover was good as was grooming. They were out grooming while I was there. The course is groomed until Sullivan Springs Rd and rolled past that. There were a few sticks here and there, but it wasn't a problem. I would rate the skating as good to very good. Thanks to the groomers and everyone for putting in all your hard work.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Skating technique used between golf course and 11 K marker. Did not do large hills at 2.5-4 k markers. Fresh grooming on the skate deck until 11 K marker and then rolled thereafter. Grooming was in progress at 11 AM today. The coverage is almost 100%. The skate deck is thin but generally level and very well compacted. There was a small amount of wind blown debris but easily avoidable. Classic tracks were being set on these segments. Conditions were better than expected. The trail tolerated the recent warm weather.
