Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Just a light dusting of snow over the last couple days has the trails skiing very well. During the warm spell and heavy wet snowfalls we've had recently we were able to roll pack and drag all trails regularly. Now the cold temps have returned and things have set up nicely. Trails are very firm and very flat with deep tracks and plenty of width throughout.

Trails are in really nice condition today. We finally have gotten some freezing temperatures at night. We have received a lot of heavy wet snow in the last bunch of days which has been challenging for grooming and skiing but we stayed at it and the trails are really nice. Very flat and solid skate lanes and our classic tracks are very good as well. We are hoping the warmer temps have passed and the cold temps will return. Get out and enjoy the beauty!

All groomed and tracked with snow coated trees. Beautiful. Hills were moderately fast with good control. Only issue was groomer left a seam or trench in places a foot or two in from inside track. Made the downhills a little more exciting than they needed to be!

Another 4 inches of unexpected cold, fluffy snow overnight had us out rolling and setting new tracks on all trails this morning. We also took the big Ginzu out and groomed D, Y and W. Trails are in excellent shape today.

Another 5 inches of snow fell last night so we rolled and set tracks on the entire system this morning. Classic tracks were excellent while the skate deck was a bit soft. We plan to Ginzu groom all trails in the morning.

On two-day old grooming, tracks half-filled with slightly icy powder. Quite good and very fast once first skier packed track. Hills on G and Z quite fast with moderate control. Leaf litter mostly covered.

All of the trails at Valley Spur were groomed and tracked this morning. One word for the condition of the trails - Excellent! Cross-country skiing doesn't get any better than today.

Lots of snow at Valley Spur. The trails we skied were recently groomed and tracked. Conditions - very good, more leaves in the tracks than I have experienced in my previous visits. One of my favorite trails and the grooming has never disappointed.

What a gorgeous New Years Day! Lots of sun, fresh snow and happy folks out enjoying the day on the trails. We finish groomed and cleared whips on A, B, C, D, G, X, Y and W today and all reports were that the skiing was great. We still have H trail closed til we can get in there and see how bad Worels Woods is after all the warm and rain. I suspect it might be kind of bad. We plan to get in there tomorrow to check it out and possibly get Z opened as well.

Excellent day and beautifully groomed trails and cozy warm up by the wood burning stove in the log cabin. Coffee and viewing the amazing photography in Munising tops the day.
