Ginzu groomed all trails for skate and classic this morning and the trails are very, very nice today. 19F degrees and snowing lightly when we finished the grooming. Perfect day for skiing. Grooming plans: We'll see how much snow we get today to determine whether or not to groom in the morning. See you out there!

We were able get a pretty good groom today by making multiple passes with our drag and big Ginzu. Classic track was thin in only a few spots. Skate lanes came out very good with plenty of edge. H trail is pretty rough in spots since we only groomed it once before the rain came but very doable. Lots of folks out skiing today with cars in both parking lots.

Great news! Worels Woods on H trail is now open and in quite nice condition. Just a few rough spots in the hemlocks that are easily avoided. All trails are now open and groomed for both skate and classic. Really nice conditions throughout.

As of 1pm today we have received 8 inches of lake effect snow. We rolled and set tracks on all loops except H which we will try and get open by the weekend now that we have plenty of new snow. We rolled and Ginzu groomed A, B, D, I, W, X, Y and Z today as well. Snow continued to fall as we packed up for the day so we plan to be out early tomorrow to groom all open trails.

Good solid tracks and a decent skate deck made it a worthwhile day trip from eastern Wisconsin. Enjoyed light snow most of the day which kept things fast. Had decent kick with Toko Red and the Dominator Green on the glide zones worked well. Light traffic and with the snowfall the grooming corduroy was just getting covered. Skied B, C, Y, W and Z and all had full coverage.

Our base held up really well through the warm temps and rain. Temps dropped into the low 20s last night with around and inch of fresh snow and snow falling when we came off the trails at 1pm. Lots of sticks,twigs,branches and trees littered the trails this morning. We groomed and cleaned up all trails except G and H. Conditions were surprisingly good for both skate and classic.

Really nice condititions at Valley Spur now. All trails open but H. Around a foot of snow has fallen in the last 3 days.

My wife and I skied from the new parking lot on V trail this afternoon and found the skiing to be very good with just a few soft spots and some soft pole plants. She skied classic and I skated on slow skis in the 13F degree temperature. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon. The classic tracks looked and skied great and the skate deck looked awesome but it didn't ski as good as it looked. With these conditions this early who's complaining? Not us.

We rolled and Ginzu groomed all trails except for H today and after the 10 inches of snow in the last couple days we are now at midwinter conditions with excellent coverage throughout. The new upper parking lot is being plowed and we will work with the plow guy to dial things in for easy access to the trail. The new access trail is designated V trail and allows skiers to reach the upper flat loops like Y and W without having to climb or descend the big hills leading to and from the Lodge parking lot.

We now have all trails open except for H trail that goes through the swamp. We will need quite a bit more snow and cold temps before attempting that. Typical early season conditions. Very good coverage overall with nice deep tracks throughout.
