Another lake affect snow event has dropped about 8 inches on the area the last few days. The Valley Spur groomer was on it with much of the system done late morning. I skied B, C, Y, parts of H, and probably other stuff but I get kind of lost out there. The track was good, the skate deck was expectedly a little soft. Great ski outing.

We woke up to two inches of fresh powder and that was a welcome surprise. We classic skied and the fresh snow was wonderful, especially on the hills. As has happened in the past, we always forget how beautiful the trails are at Valley Spur.

1-2" of fresh snow over groomed deck. Temps were a bit warmer than yesterday so glide was somewhat improved, which was good with the fatigued legs from yesterday's low-glide skating of the challenging climbs here. Another beautiful day on these beautiful, snow-rich trails... Repeated B and C loops, and did hilly G, and flatter Y and W.

Perfect grooming and snow at Valley Spur. The snow was fresh and cold, so classic would have been the better choice, but I wanted to skate so I dealt with slow snow. This made the many hills a good workout, but made the downhills manageable. Always a joy to ski at one of my favorite trails. A real gem.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed in another 4 inches of fresh snow this morning on all trails. Nice classic track. Skate lanes are a bit soft but more than skiable. Plan on another full groom in the morning with our big Ginzu. Conditions should be excellent.

Skied the Valley Spur System on Sunday and Monday. Tracks are good throughout the system. Leaves are a nuisance in a few areas, it seems especially on the uphills – Huff and Puff, and Stairway to Heaven come to mind. Pole plants were good throughout the system. I would rate most of the system in the good to very good range.

Grooming

Ginzu groomed all trails for skate and classic this morning and the trails are very, very nice today. 19F degrees and snowing lightly when we finished the grooming. Perfect day for skiing. Grooming plans: We'll see how much snow we get today to determine whether or not to groom in the morning. See you out there!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We were able get a pretty good groom today by making multiple passes with our drag and big Ginzu. Classic track was thin in only a few spots. Skate lanes came out very good with plenty of edge. H trail is pretty rough in spots since we only groomed it once before the rain came but very doable. Lots of folks out skiing today with cars in both parking lots.

Great news! Worels Woods on H trail is now open and in quite nice condition. Just a few rough spots in the hemlocks that are easily avoided. All trails are now open and groomed for both skate and classic. Really nice conditions throughout.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
As of 1pm today we have received 8 inches of lake effect snow. We rolled and set tracks on all loops except H which we will try and get open by the weekend now that we have plenty of new snow. We rolled and Ginzu groomed A, B, D, I, W, X, Y and Z today as well. Snow continued to fall as we packed up for the day so we plan to be out early tomorrow to groom all open trails.
