All sections (except the closed segment between junctions 2, 3, and 4) were groomed and track set on Wednesday and are in excellent condition. The trail should be set up nicely for the rest of the week and weekend.

The Sturgeon River Trail was groomed and track-set north of intersection 4 today. Conditions for skiing should be excellent. We hope to groom and set a track on the Jean Lake loop on Friday.

We groomed and set a single track on the trail system form intersection 4 north. North of County road 65 we groomed and tracked 1.5 miles on the west side of Sturgeon River and on the east side of the river we groomed and tracked to the shelter. South of intersection 4 the main bridge on the Sturgeon River has been removed and we will not be grooming that portion of the trail this winter.

From trail head on Co. 65 I classic skied the large loop 12 K (?) to the south of trailhead. The trail was just being packed with a snowmobile. I was told that the trail to North (from the trail head on Co. 65) to the shelter on both side of the river was packed last week by snowmobile. Great scenic trails from yesterday's new snow.

This U.S. Department of Agriculture ski trail is currently not groomed and the parking lots not plowed due to the lapse in federal government funding. The ski trail grooming and parking lot plowing will restart once Congress restores funding.
