Morning
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Great conditions at Neshota, both skate and classic, having covered all the trails. Fairly firm skate deck allowing for secure pole plants, and 90% of the classic tracks are full depth. Red/Oak Hill portion was slightly rougher, but nothing unexpected. Some sections had a slight deep scrape/groove from the groomer running parallel within the trail, particularly in the first mile, but nothing that we couldn't still ski comfortably. All in all, fantastic snow depth and high quality grooming, as usual! Huge thanks to the county groomers!

Silky smooth skating this morning after the groomer had made multiple passes with the snowmobile. Classic tracks are also very nice. Plenty of snow is still clinging to the trees down in this valley. Groomer told me he started at 5am today. The trail conditions reflect the effort put in.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Trails were renovated this morning with the goal of planing out the skate deck and compacting the area around the classic track to allow for solid pole plants. This resulted in a flat and firm skate deck and a solid base for the classic tracks. Classic tracks were also reset.

Freshly groomed corduroy and level skate deck. Best continuous V2 conditions I've skied in years. Pole plants were soft in some places, especially on the Red Oak hill climb. Very little debris except next to the trail up top where the deer have been digging for acorns through the foot+ of snow. Really fun ski. Tracks look very good throughout. Thank you Brown County Parks staff!

Another maintenance groom was completed this morning! The snow was a bit more crumbly and less packy than the last few days. This resulted in small layer of fluffy snow on today's grooming. Some debris might still be found on some segments of the trails. Tracks are set and all trails are open! Enjoy the warming temperatures and brilliant sunshine today!

Pristine trails. Excellent grooming, skate deck ready to go and track is set. Actually overdressed for the occasion!

Grooming

With the frigid temperatures still here but on the climb up, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to lay down a fresh groom this morning! Some of the skate tracks were refreshed as well. There is some small debris to be found on parts of the trail, but the trail is in great condition! We also found many snow tracks of critters enjoying the trail along side the skiing community. Hopefully, you get to see the family of deer who have bedded down near the trail or just enjoy the beautiful sights Neshota trails has to offer, on your next visit!

Excellent conditions. Fresh groom with set tracks throughout. Wooded area protected from wind gusts. Chilly but beautiful.

As best as could be expected this afternoon at Neshota Park! Skated all the trails, and while it was pretty soft throughout the coverage is amazing. Everything has been groomed, and Red/Oak is in great shape. They were actively grooming while I was there (around 12-2pm), and said they would continue grooming and set tracks in the near future. While I flicked a few small branches from the trail, as long as you don't mind soft and deep snow you can definitely use your good skis throughout. Hills were tougher than normal due to the depth, but plenty of coverage and a fun time nonetheless. Huge thanks to the county groomers, and fingers crossed that walkers stay off these beautiful trails!
