Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
I groomed and set new track on the classic only black trail. Conditions are very good on most of the trail but sadly there are two sections where it's very thin. I would not recommend using your good skis. The whole system picked up an inch this morning. Grooming plans: The grooming team will assess when the best time to groom for the weekend is. Sledding hill is also groomed.

Strided and skated the brown, which probably had the best conditions of everything I was on. Skated the purple up to the green cutoff, then back on the purple after the marsh, seeing as the marsh section has been pretty wiped out. Amazing conditions. I used my A skis, but I was careful. Saw no rocks. Skated the red, which was in good shape except for a short section about 1/4 mile in, which had a heavy coverage of tree debris. Aside from that, red was in good shape.

Greenbush is in much better shape. Pretty good skiing everywhere, even the pines (just a few small areas of litter, red trail) with the noticeable exception of three areas. The back green has numerous rock problems on the hills. Avoid this area by taking the cutoff to the purple. Those rocks are ski widowers for sure. The pond area along the Marsh is super thin and small rocks are there as well. Take the green cutoff to the purple. The third is on the north side of the marsh as a few rocks are emerging on the right side of the trail, which can be avoided by going left. Greenbush gets a B vs the D- I gave Zillmer. The skiing was fast, firm and fun on 98% of the trail system. The grooming was epic.

Skied the brown, red, green, purple. Trails by the marsh including the green and purple were pretty thin with dirt and rocks. Everything else was awesome!

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the trail today! I skied the yellow. Some debris in the pines was passable. It was thin in parts of the marsh but I made it through unscathed. The groomers did their magic. Thanks to all that made this possible! The classic track looked good all around except in the marsh area.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All trails except black received a single pass of light renovation of the dry hardpacked skate surface. We weren't able to reset classic tracks but everything has previous tracks except green after the first cutoff. Debris is minimal but with the thin base hazards could be encountered anywhere but mainly on purple along the marsh and green after the first cutoff. Ski safe. Ski often.

Skated Brown and Purple. Brown was in good shape. Purple was good except for the marsh area. I used my good skis, but would recommend B skis. You'll want to step through some of the thin areas. I strided the Brown, and tracks were good except for some icy parts. The groomer has obviously done their best to keep it skiing. Now we just need some fresh snow.

Surprisingly good skate deck across most of the trail that we skied. Skipped the back portion of purple and took green down to marsh then skied backwards to check out coverage. Wind has blown the snow off the trail and there was very thin coverage along the ridge between marsh and kettle with lots of dirt. It was still just barely skiable though. That was the only bad stretch I found (see pics). Rest was fast and fun with good coverage. Tracks looked good in most places too.

Very good except for purple trail near the marshes and frequent exposed rocks on the green trail. Classic tracks disappear in the lean areas on the purple trail near the marsh. Too nice of a day out so I skied them anyway. Red, brown trails especially good. Fun bonus sledding at the end of the trail, with loaner sleds available at the warming house. Great day!

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
With low expectations, I headed to Greenbush about 1:00 in the afternoon. Upon arrival, with only one car in the parking lot, I thought, 'Oh well, I'm here, I'm going to ski.' I met the other skier in the parking lot (the only other car) and his report was that conditions were good to very good, with a couple of exceptions. As I started my ski on the Brown trail, it was good to very good. I skied the Purple trail through the pines, which had some debris but was very skiable. I was going to take Terry's Loop, but the Green trail wasn't groomed. I found the two bad spots. The first thin area was directly after the long downhill as you make the right turn along the marsh. You have to pick your way through. The second thin section is the narrow trail between the marsh and the pond. Other than those two spots, the trail was in very good shape. I only skied the Purple and Brown. The Red and Pink trails looked as if they had been groomed, so I would assume they are good with some debris. The tracks I saw looked to be in great shape. Great job (as usual) from the grooming crew. Sorry, no pics; I think my camera froze up. It felt like the temperature was -13 degrees.
