The lower man-made loop was Piston Bully groomed. The deck deck was tilled and is in great condition. A new classic track was set and is great as well. Grooming plans: Snowmaking will start up again Thursday and run into Friday. Please give them and the groomers room to work.

I made an attempt to groom the man made loop but the snow was far too wet. Grooming plans: So the meadow loop will remain ungroomed until the evening. Temperature will drop over the course of the day and that shoukd dry up the snow. We plan to be out tonight to groom the man made loop. I believe the park service has the same plan for the rest of the trail system as well.

All trails were groomed overnight with the ginzu, and conditions should be pretty good. I was able to lay track on all of the trails. I left the tracks that the piston bully put down from the night before, they have some snow in them from the light snow we had overnight but should be fine once the first few skiers go through. I would recommend using your B skis or rock skis if you are planning on going out on the upper sections of the Blue/Black trails as there are still some places where a couple rocks are sticking up. Everywhere else has good coverage.

All the trails were groomed with the Ginzu Sunday night. Classic tracks placed by the Piston Bully were left on the man-made snow, all other classic tracks were removed overnight in anticipation for new track being laid Tuesday morning. The Black trail continues to provide difficulty to groom as slick conditions made it hard to gain traction grooming up hills, be cautious of rocks and tree roots as you ski. Skate deck across the system is in good shape and is skiing well according to a number of people I talked to at the trail head.

All trails were groomed overnight with classic track set. Trails are all in excellent condition, although some thin spots remain on the outer loops.

The Piston Bully was out this morning grooming the new snow on the man made loop. The lower meadow loop was tilled and a new track was set. I was able to groom up to summer stage and around to the meadow loop. That section is in good shape but it is a little thin. A shallow Thrace was set up to summer stage. Grooming plans: The rest of the trail system should be rolled this morning and groomed tonight.

One week after mother nature blessed us with about 10 inches of snow at Lapham, the snowmakers got busy on Wednesday into Thursday. I groomed and set tracks on the lower meadow trail and it should be pretty good skiing. It was a winter Wonderland while I was grooming, about an inch of snow fell. The 2025/2026 ski season is off to a good start. The DNR has been grooming the whole trail system, it's getting a lot of ski pressure and is getting thin in some areas but we all should feel blessed as we are skiing the first week in December. Happy skiing everybody.

Lower Field Loop - The snowmaking on the lower field loop (warm-up loop) is complete and the new snow has been spread and groomed with the Piston Bully. This loop is in very good shape with tracks set and is ready to be skied on. Good Skis. Lighted Loop - The rest of the lighted loop was groomed with the ginzu overnight and should set up decent. It is a little chunky but still good coverage throughout. I tried to leave the shallow set of tracks that have been skied in on the outside part of the trail as best I could. B skis as there are a couple spots that looked a little thin or had a little grass starting to poke through. Upper Trails - Everything else off of the lighted loop was not groomed overnight. It is still open to skiing but has some rocks showing and more thin spots. Rock skis recommended.

Trail closures: Snowmaking operations are planned for Wednesday night through Thursday night. It will be focused on the lower loop straight out from the Lapham Lodge and towards the snowmaking building and around that loop going back towards the Lodge. This small portion of trail will be closed for the next couple days as we make and then spread the snow, the rest of the ski trails remain open. As always, please use caution and give extra room to the snowmakers and groomers if you see them out on the trail.
