Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Very good conditions for skate and stride on the snowmaking loops. Trails were not regroomed from Sunday, but both the skate deck and tracks are still in good condition. The skate still has a loose layer of powdery snow on a firm base, and is fast, but not icy. The tracks are well worn from a busy Sunday, and are slick, but not icy.

Just another day of excellent conditions for skate and stride on the snowmaking trails. Ideal skate surface, new solid parallel tracks. No debris. No sugar snow on the uphills or ruts and ridges on the Magic Carpet.

Fun, fun and more fun on snow making loops! Solid tracks with a thin layer of powder snow made for fast ski! Magic carpet downhill was fast, but controllable. Skate deck appeared level also even though I did not ski on it.

Ski deck was excellent, as reported by groomer. Plenty of loose snow for edging on a very level deck. Many were enjoying the conditions for both skating and striding. We are blessed with having the snow making and groomers in south eastern Wisconsin for xc skiing. The new lodge is great for socializing with ski friends.

Excellent conditions for skate and stride on the snowmaking loops today. Firm base with a layer of powdery snow provided an ideal surface for all skate techniques. Even with the huge number of skiers on the trail today, the surface never broke down into corn snow. The Magic Carpet downhill was fast but totally controllable. No debris to speak of. Striding tracks were solid and fast. Please note that a fantastic ski trail, and superb trail side facilities - the Lapham Lodge - that can handle hundreds of skiers is the result of hardworking volunteer snowmakers and groomers, supported by your donations.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Excellent conditions for skate and stride on the snowmaking loops. Cold snow and windblown conditions in the open areas slowed things down a bit. Solid base with a covering of loose powder on the skate deck. Tracks are solid, straight, and snowy.

The PistenBully was out grooming the man-made loops at Lapham. The skate deck was tilled and is in excellent condition. The classic tracks were left as is for the most part. New tracks were set in the start area for the Wednesday night races. Grooming plans: Please note, the snowmaking crew will be out on the trails tomorrow for what should be the last time for the season. The new snow will be spread and groomed on Thursday night.
