Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
A firm base with wet, loose snow on top on a warmish, cloudy day. A bit sticky, but still very nice for skate and stride. A few specks of dirt - hence the B skis. A great day to be out skiing.

The Snow Maker’s have been at it again, so the trails have been extended. Mark and I spread the whales, tilled, and set classic tracks.

The best skating deck conditions possible on only a 0.4 mile manmade loop. So enjoyable that I did 23 laps. I double poled in the tracks at times as they were in good shape. There was snow spread up to magic carpet and around the lower loop but were barricaded. Thanks to the groomers with new Pistenbully groomer.

Skiing on the 0.7 km manmade snow loop was very nice this morning. Firm, level base with a good layer of loose snow made for excellent skating. Double set of diagonal tracks are in good condition. Smiles were all around.

Very nice inaugural ski on the pond loop this morning. The manmade snow groomed up very nicely with the new Pisten Bully, Skate deck is firm, with a few low spots. There's a double set of classic tracks in some stretches, but not all the way around.

Thanks to all your generous donations, we have a brand new PB 100 Pisten Bully. Come out and enjoy the first ski of the 2020/2021 ski season at Lapham Peak State Park.

Spoke with park staff early this afternoon. They are targeting having roughly 1k of skiable man-made snow available this Saturday, assuming all goes well.
