Sublime trail conditions. A great turnout for the Last Chance race. How do they pull off a trail in this nice of shape after this last week's temps? A wonderful day to be on the Vasaloppet trails.

The trails are holding up very well with no bare spots and only small areas of dirty snow. Groomers plan to be out on Friday night ahead of our Last Chance race on Saturday morning. Join us for one last race around the Nordic Center.

Skied the entire trail, perfect conditions and not icy at all like some of the trails in the cities. Beautifully groomed! Some debris in the tracks but manageable. Perfect day to be out.

I classic skied the blue (Dala) and red (Bell Tower) trails. The trails had been groomed on Wednesday and were in beautiful shape. There were a few Oak leaves on the trail in places. The wind created some drifting in the open areas. The groomer was going out to touch up the skate lane. Roger's Ridge trail was also groomed on Wednesday. Come and check them out this weekend. Also, plan to come and ski our Last Chance Race on Saturday, March 19th to help us pay for snowmaking.

The majority of the trails (all but South Oaks, I believed) were being groomed for skate and classic when I skied this morning. Groomers are actively putting down a freshly groomed trail and are likely to be done by 11:00 am. Trails should be perfect and set up well by lunchtime. Come up and visit the Nordic Center. As usual for this time of year, there is some debris in the trail.

I skated the Vasaloppet trails for the first time and found them to be wonderful. The coverage is 100%, the base is solid, and although it has been skied since last groomed, the corduroy is still visible in quite a few places, and where it's been skied out, it still has a cover of "edgeable" snow that made skiing efficient. The trail was scraped down in a couple places on downhill curves, but every trail segment was very manageable. I stepped into the diagonal tracks a couple times for some fun downhill runs and found them solid and fast. For the most part, there appeared to be good diagonal tracks throughout. Parts of the Red Loop have yet to be groomed, with some trail segments blocked by ribbon flags, and it looks as though a combination of the Blue Loop plus parts of the Red Loop have been combined by the grooming. The trails are nicely designed, and the volunteer groomers have clearly done a good job preparing and grooming the trails throughout the season to have them so skiable this time of year. I'd assess the trails to be in excellent condition, and as far as today is concerned, excellent+ for the nice, sunny day!

After Saturdays drizzle and some snow overnight, Jimmy the Groomer has set new classic tracks and a full skate deck on his second time around. The Vasaloppet Nordic ski center is open and the trails are setting up hard. Happy Trails!

Trails are in fantastic condition - I skate skied Vasa Hills, The entire section around Little Round Top/Marshmallow Hill, and Amy's Alley/Roger's Ridge. All areas are firm and fast. Classic tracks appear to be in good shape. My understanding is that the whole system was freshly groomed on Thursday morning. There is some debris on the trail (Sticks, bark and pine cones.) Good skis are probably fine, but I marked B Skis due to material on the trail.

Volunteers were actively grooming the Nordic Center Ski Trails this morning (all except North Oaks and South Oaks). I skied all but Roger's Ridge on the old skate deck as the groomer was grooming the classic track. He was presently grooming the skate deck. Trails are in fantastic condition with a small amount of debris in the trail (sticks, pine cones, bark, etc.) Get out and enjoy!

All trails north of the Nordic Center have been groomed and tracked except for North Oaks and South Oaks. The trails are in beautiful condition with a 6-12 inch base of manmade snow topped with a foot of new snow on Monday and Tuesday. The high winds today did some drifting in open areas on north of the Nordic Center. 10+ K of trails are groomed. I classic skied. Both the skate deck and classic tracks are in great shape.
