[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Skied early this morning, I skied a combo loop of blue/green/white. Trails in great condition, fairly firm, just a few areas of debris. Uphills and downhills were good, very pleased with the grooming especially for the weekend.

Excellent. Three sections of the Blue trail were not groomed yet but otherwise had tracks and a skate deck everywhere.

I skated the white trail at 7am this morning. A huge amount of chainsaw work and trail clearing has been done since a previous report about tree debris everywhere. The trails were all clear. There is one downhill section on the white trail that has the UTV tracks still, but it's very easy to skip that portion. There is two inches of fresh snow that was not rolled yet as of 8am this morning. So it was hard work out there!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
The purple and white trails were groomed for classic and skate around 1 PM today. A small loop of the blue off of the purple loop also groomed. Skiing was good. From what I saw, no other trails opened and blocked with signage preventing entry.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I started on the purple and white loop given the KMSF hotline said they were good to go. Lots of UTV tracks and lots of ruts, especially on the southern end of the white loop. Skied the orange loop after and it looks like they rolled most of the remaining trails today. Still a soft base but much easier and enjoyable to ski.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Skied the white loop after calling the hotline for trail conditions and being told the white and purple loops were groomed. Was disappointed that they were not groomed, lots of ruts, bumps, and ATV tire tracks. I tried to make the best of it, and hoping they can groom the entire system by the weekend. Lots of branches down that I was told they were cleaning up, so we'll see how it ends up by Saturday.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
I arrived shortly after noon. Intermediate trails were not packed or groomed. From the skiers I talked to, you would be taking off your skis to climb over downed trees/tree limbs. The purple loop was at least packed but no classic tracks set (except the skiers making their own), skate deck was uber soft. By late afternoon, they had packed the brown loop and the white loop. Skiing around you could tell lots of tree branches and other debris fell onto the trails. Help them out by picking some branches up off the trail and throwing them into the forest! Great news is that the snow will stick around...don't fret if you did not make it out today. It was slow going but thank you DNR folks for working hard to clear the trails. Expect conditions to improve and more trails to open in the coming days. Based on the packed trails, they probably got 10 inches or more -- no grass within sight!

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Lots of fresh snow, maybe 4-6 inches under trees, maybe up to a foot in the open. Some drifts so depth is variable. Lots of downed stuff including big trees. The DNR folks were clearing big trees earlier am (thank you!), by late morning the purple (easy) was rolled, no classic tracks, but a few skier tracked - slower going but fun nevertheless. I used backcountry skis at first then switched to skinny skis. Blue, orange, red were not rolled as of 1 PM. A couple skate skied ut didn't look like they had fun - deck was still too soft. Hope by tomorrow more trails will open up.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Rock skis ]
First ski of the season on natural snow. Four inches of wet snow from yesterday was being groomed when I arrived. About an inch base, debris in areas, snow still wet, but was a decent ski - slow going. A big thanks to the groomer.
