The fresh snow (maybe an inch or inch and a half) from today hadn't been rolled yet around 2:30pm, but snow coverage was good! You still see some grass here and there but nothing major. I was new to this course (and am new to skiing) and had a great time! I am new enough that I don't know if it is B skis or good skis rated cause I've only got one pair! But I certainly didn't hit any rocks or soil.

Great coverage and nicely packed from prior grooming. However, the trail is thin in places and was very wind blown today. I struggled a bit with the uneven surfaces. Great to be on natural snow though!

Skied the full loop this morning a few times. The powder helped cover some of the grassy areas that have been showing the last few days. There are still some spots showing through, but they can be avoided easily enough. Overall, it's in great condition for this time of year!

Even better conditions this morning at Hiawatha, thanks to lots of skier traffic that helped compress the skate deck, making for a firmer and faster ski. Classic tracks were also in good shape throughout most of the 4K loop. No new mechanical grooming (which is good because the snow is so thin), but the human-powered grooming is really working well to preserve the base. Snow is nice and clean and only a few grassy spots to deal with.

Soft and patchy snow, but has been rolled and is skiable! Thank you to the groomers who went out and got the loop rolled. So good to be back on skis!

Thanks to the Loppet volunteer groomers, Hiawatha is in great shape for both skating and classic skiing. In fact, the classic track seemed to have better coverage in some areas than the skate deck. It was smart of the groomer to do just a light pass of the roller; there is minimal debris to worry about, just a few patches of frozen grass poking through. I did not run into any sticks or pavement. Great to have this little 4K loop online so early!

All trails (4k, 2k, 1k, walking loops) were all rolled this morning in hopes of capturing more snow and creating some options for skiing. There are a few areas of exposed sidewalk or some grass poking through, but it is snow covered for the most part, especially for the back half of the course. The walking path has also been rolled-- please keep dogs leashed and on the walking path. The trail team will get out to groom properly and set classic tracks once we get more snow; it is not deep enough for an effective grooming at this time.
