Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Very shallow classic tracks today due to melting snow this weekend. Lots of slippery corners, but all pretty much skiable. A few bare spots, but easy to see and avoid. Would not recommend until we get a new snowfall.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The trails are in quite nice condition and very fast. There are a few icy spots to be aware of (mostly on corners and underneath trees). One of the icy patches was the backside downhill after the bridge. This was very fast. There are also a spots where the snow is dirty but I could easily ski around them. I was happy to see that there was plenty of snow on the uphills to get an edge. The downhills have gotten a little smoother but it was still so fun skiing. There also appears to be tracks almost everywhere. There are a few corners where the track has washed out.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
A few bare spots, but can see them and avoid them in advance. In areas, the trails are shallow, but mostly in great shape. Had a great ski this afternoon (about noon to 2pm). Enjoy!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed and reset classic tracks at Columbia tonight. It was good skiing today and I suspect tomorrow will be too. The skate deck is firm and consistent around the whole course and should be easy to set an edge. Classic tracks are shallow, but should improve with light traffic.
Let's hope for some more snow, but all in all Columbia is in pretty good shape! Enjoy!

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
John and I skied there around 11:30 am today. Good coverage and no oak leaves! No bare spots and nice clean white snow! Classic tracks were shallow and washed out in some places but fairly decent in other places. Never skied there before and it's a nice loop with some little ups and downs. Being unfamiliar with it, we crossed the RR bridge and unfortunately there were quite a few kids sledding down a couple hills right across the ski trail. If you go there, I would advise turning around right before or at the RR bridge and avoiding the area where they've been sledding. As you can imagine, the sledding has totally obliterated the ski trail in that area and is somewhat unsafe when kids sledding down the hill.

Morning
Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
Groomed and set new classic tracks at Columbia this morning. The skate deck looks hard and fast in sections but has a nice soft top layer on most trail. It looks pretty good and you will be able to hold an edge throughout the course. Classic tracks are a bit shallow here and there, but looks quite skiable. Come enjoy Columbia! It looks really good out there!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Just finished grooming the skate deck -- it's looking good out there! There may be a thin patch here or there, but it's solid and smooth. The classic track is good to fair, it is washed out on some corners and hills, but it looks just fine on about 80% of the course. I didn't reset it because I didn't think I could make it any better than it is already. Tomorrow should be a great day to ski at Columbia!

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Freshly set skate deck and put the teeth down a bit to loosen up some of the icy spots. Will be a little slippery in spots with the temps dropping and wind picking up. Looking really good and full coverage. Have fun out there!

What a wonderful ski! Thank you, Mr. Dagget! Trail was pristine and an easy glide all around. Just a few thin/shallow spots and skate deck looks in great shape. Catch the window of no wind chill while ye can.
