2021-2022 season

Today's warm weather was not kind to Columbia. While there are stretches of the course that are still in good shape, the melt has created some real challenges. If you venture out, be prepared for significant areas of melt and refreeze. I want to take a moment to thank our groomers. Skiing at Columbia has been exceptional this season. Thank you for making the skiing so awesome!

Could have skied in shorts it was so beautiful at noon today. Classic tracks were in great condition, albeit some slushy/slow spots. The warm temps might really do some damage. Get a ski in while you can!

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Columbia is in remarkably good shape. The skate deck is firm with good cover of snow (except for a few small places that are easily seen. ) The course is well worth skiing this morning.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Just finished grooming Columbia and it looks really nice. Has classic tracks and a smooth skate deck. Will be warm today but should be good skiing at Columbia! Enjoy!

There's some wind-swept snow out on the tracks (completely covered the classic trails in some spots) but overall pretty well groomed and no bare spots. Had a great time out there for my first time skate skiing.

Best classic skiing I've had at Columbia lately. Track is good. Shallow in some spots with some ice but all in all pretty great! Thanks groomers!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I groomed late tonight, getting the skate deck in good shape and set new classic tracks. All in all things are looking pretty decent out there. Classic tracks are 90% there. I shoveled snow on most of the wind blown spots, mostly focusing on the crest of the steep hill by the clubhouse. There's a bypass for the steep hill if it gets too icy again. You might see some grass poking through in some areas after the winds tonight, but you could use your good skis if you're watching where you're going.

Firsthand: Both

We have lots of new snow - maybe a bit too much. I am confident that Columbia will ski well after more grooming but, for now, it is pretty challenging. Most of the deck is pretty deep in snow with some windblown bare spots on the top of hills. Better day are ahead!

Classic skied at 5:30pm at the tail end of this storm. Hit all except the far SW loop. Couple sketchy spots but otherwise mostly snowdrifted tracks.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed Columbia this afternoon and set tracks. It's blowing and will likely drift in, but good to have fresh snow. There are some thin and windswept sections but should be a decent course. The clubhouse hill had to reroute hard left along the hillside. It's still not very good there, but it's passable. Enjoy!
