Great skiing today at the North End. All skate lanes freshly groomed sometime earlier this morning. Classic tracks were reset at the same time. In addition it looks like all the classic only single track trails have been regroomed as well. The North End system is a playground right now.

Found perfect conditions this morning and both the classic only trail as well at the A loops for skate/classic! All were all groomed by volunteer Ron Bergin this morning! Perfect conditions and the 3-4" of powder buried all the sticks that were present from the wind strom on Friday. Saw several people skating as well and it looked pretty firm. Should be even faster once things fully setup.

Skiers will find good skating and classic skiing at the North End Trails just outside of Cable. The North End Trail had just been recently groomed and is in very good shape. There is some debris here and there. Have fun!

Very good for both skate and classic. During this morning's exploration of the ABSF trail system, I detoured for a loop of the North End system. It looks like the A, B and C loops all got groomed either late last night or early today. Classic tracks are not quite full depth everywhere but look very good in most places. Repeated grooming has managed to bury/grind up most of the tree schmutz on the skate deck so conditions are much improved from the past few days. I did not see any evidence of recent grooming on the old Tony Wise loop but the primary loops are in very good condition.

The return trip from this morning's Birkie Trail ski to Timber Trail was mostly on the Sleigh Trail which is groomed by the North End Ski Club rather than the ABSF. They're using a Gator and a Tidd Tech rather than a Piston Bully so conditions are modestly different than on the Birkie Trail. The skate deck is flat with all fresh corduroy but the classic tracks are a little shallower. And as the trails are narrower with more overhanging trees so the small twig blowdown is a little worse. Still great skiing.

Skated out of North End Cabin. The trails had been recently groomed and offered good coverage. Due to the warmer temps and some additional new snow on top of the previous grooming, there were some soft spots in the skate lane. The classic track looked really good. Later, I skated on the Birkie Trail over to the Birkie start area, which is where I found some of the best grooming of the day. The Birkie and Birkie Classic loop at the start area was firm, level, and offered very good skating and classic skiing. It snowed the entire time I was out.

Skied the entire North End Classic trail today. About half of it was groomed and the other half was snowshoe stomped, in preparation for a super cool and fun sounding snowshoe race. Kicked thru the powder with skintecs which rocked everything they encountered today. Tracks were expertly set especially considering the relatively low snow levels. Amazing sir. Bluebird day, on absolutely the best skiing classic trail anywhere. We call it an Opus for the designer. Tough climbs and swoopy downhills and beautiful country. It was a bit crowded, though- we saw 3 other skiers out there, but we worked it out, and pretty sure we maintained social distancing. HNY!

Three cheers to the North End groomers who were out in the afternoon. The skate deck and classic track were set on the main north end trail. The North End Classic trail had yet to be groomed. The snow was still a little soft in some places for skate, but significantly better than on previous days. We skied the 5k and 7k loops.

Some of the North End Ski Trails in Cable were groomed for skating. There was not enough snow to set a track. The skate lane has some undulations and some soft spots. The trails were very smooth and level in spots. There were also a few brown/dirt areas, I suggest using your B skis. Hopefully, more snow is on the way. Happy Holidays!

We took the hard rockers out for a ski on the A loop. Pretty soft conditions and the snow was balling up on the bottoms. There is significant logging operations at the end of the A loop by km 51 on the Birkie Classic trail. Logs are stacked 20 + feet high for hundreds of feet. The trail was very rutted.
