Notes

This is a remote trail that is groomed by volunteers for classic skiing that goes thru jackpine forests, black spruce swamps and over glacial eskers. A skier will probably see more tracks of deer, wolves and moose that they will of other skiers. A snowshoe trail is also starts by the trailhead. Located two miles south of Hellman's Store on CR 44.

[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
We received about 1 1/2" new snow, so freshened up some of the trails. Your best bet is to ski the south loop. Still a little rough in the swampy areas after the big melt down. Section from 7 to 8 is closed because of an active logging operation.

Trail was groomed today after 4.5" new snow; we now have about 10" on the ground. A little rough in the swamps, but not too bad overall. #7 to #8 is closed because of an active logging operation.

[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Trail was packed, and downed trees removed. Not enough snow to set a track, as the 8" of fluffy snow have packed down to about 3", so any skiing will need rock skis. There is an active logging operation going on, so the trail is closed from 7 to 8.
