Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Out around 1PM - skate deck generally soft but surprisingly fast. Coverage was decent with sporadic debris showing through. Most of the fields were in good shape, did not ski the woods. Appreciate grooming efforts today and great to be out at CLCF!

Observation Scheduling
[ Trails: Closed, Good skis ]
Trails are now closed. It's best to stay off the trails with the soft conditions and deep snow as deep ski grooves can be very difficult to groom out once the temperatures drop and the trails firm up.

The skate deck was re-groomed this morning and looks to be in very good condition. The classic tracks are glazed over.

Skated CLCF Nordic at 3:00 this afternoon. 17 degrees, snow felt relatively fast. Well traveled areas were good. Some of the wooded uphills were soft and maybe a bit narrow, kept getting ski tips stuck in the fluffy snow on the edges. A fair amount of debris, I flicked a lot of sticks, but it wasn't bad, could maneuver fine. More snow would be great. Awesome job by Jerry and other volunteers, it's beautiful out there!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
After a ton of work this past week, the CLCF (Fox Hill) trails are almost all groomed and in great shape. West Loops are skate only. The Upper Fields, Lower Fields, Truck Lane, etc are all tracked for classic. Bring your good skis. Be sure to thank all the volunteers for an outstanding effort.

Skating is firming up pretty well. Spots where a basket will go through crust toward the outsides, and some lingering boot prints / debris but trails are in pretty remarkable shape given the challenges of the past week. Thanks to all the volunteers and Jerry for all of the effort whipping it back into shape!

Classic skied behind Jerry's snow machine on deep yet soft fresh tracks. Upper and Lower Fields and Prairie Loop are groomed and tracked. First small loop into the Woods is groomed. The East, West, and Fox Hill Loops are not groomed at this time. Great to be out!

Observation
[ Trails Open: Most ]
Out with Jerry and group of folks helping to pack and clear trails of storm debris. Some difficulty getting through east and west loops due to soft deep snow and a few downed trees. Jerry was actively grooming main fields and some of woods afterward.

Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, Good skis ]
Too much of a good thing! The latest storm hit CLCF/Fox Hill with 18" on top of the 6-7" of wet/heavy stuff on Tuesday. The grooming snowmobile struggled to make it around even to pack it down a bit before grooming can even be attempted. The biggest challenge is the downed trees, branches and debris. Heavy snow/ice brings the branches down over the trail making the grooming impassible. It would be helpful if folks on snowshoes can hike the trails and pick up sticks, branches and debris to help the groomers do their thing.

Observation
[ Trails: Closed ]
We received about 15 inches of snow. There are trees across the trails and low hanging branches. At this time, the trails have not been groomed and doubt that the parking lot is plowed.
