As of 4pm trails were very nicely groomed (Thanks Jerry - you rock). Looked like a good firm classic track on most trails. Overall beautiful but slow conditions for skating due to soft base and cold conditions. Snow seemed especially slow in open areas.

Perfect skate conditions today, the skate deck was firm with good purchase. The classic tracks also looked very good. The trails in the woods were freshly groomed and a little softer than the lower sections, but still very good. Excellent coverage and minimal debris. Thanks Jerry for all your hard work!

Fabulous. Skating base started to firm up with multiple grooming passes by Jerry. Classic track appeared firm. Great control throughout. Just a great day to be out at CLCF!

My first visit to CLCF and I was pleased with trails and grooming. Deep set tracks. No ice and no exposed ground. While I did not skate, the skate deck appeared groomed earlier today and was flat and firm. I loved the trails in the woods, plenty of loose snow to control the downhill runs. My only wish is for more signage on the trails to make navigating on the trails easier. Overall a fun day at CLCF!

Classical tracks in great condition after some fresh snow. Skate lanes looked a bit soft but still pleasant. Looked to still need grooming on some sections after Sunday snow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
On Sunday, made 6 passes over the trails to knock it down and firm it up.  Grooming plans: Monday morning the skate lanes will be re-groomed and new classic tracks set.  The parking lot is plowed.

Jerry has done a great job of making snowflakes out of ice cubes all week. I hope he’s rewarded with some fresh snow soon. The best snow in SE Wisconsin and very good skating.

Another very good skating day at CLCF. The trails remain totally covered, didn't see a single rock. The base is thin, and the surface very hard, so skating is very fast. I don't think beginners would have a good time, but people with some experience and balance will be able to push off and stay stable. Great job by Jerry to keep scratching it up. Really hope we get more snow soon. Classic tracks are open but hard and fast.

Firm, fast, fun and freshly groomed skate deck! A great morning to be out. Jerry was busy loosening up what had refrozen during the night.

Considering the conditions this was a great ski. Most has been groomed recently and very nice to ski albeit icy and fast in areas. Only in the deep woods loops are there some very icy and not recently groomed tracks that are hard to ski...but you can. Fantastic to have virtually full coverage and great trails.
