Afternoon

Classical tracks in great condition after some fresh snow. Skate lanes looked a bit soft but still pleasant. Looked to still need grooming on some sections after Sunday snow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
On Sunday, made 6 passes over the trails to knock it down and firm it up.  Grooming plans: Monday morning the skate lanes will be re-groomed and new classic tracks set.  The parking lot is plowed.

Jerry has done a great job of making snowflakes out of ice cubes all week. I hope he’s rewarded with some fresh snow soon. The best snow in SE Wisconsin and very good skating.

Another very good skating day at CLCF. The trails remain totally covered, didn't see a single rock. The base is thin, and the surface very hard, so skating is very fast. I don't think beginners would have a good time, but people with some experience and balance will be able to push off and stay stable. Great job by Jerry to keep scratching it up. Really hope we get more snow soon. Classic tracks are open but hard and fast.

Firm, fast, fun and freshly groomed skate deck! A great morning to be out. Jerry was busy loosening up what had refrozen during the night.

Considering the conditions this was a great ski. Most has been groomed recently and very nice to ski albeit icy and fast in areas. Only in the deep woods loops are there some very icy and not recently groomed tracks that are hard to ski...but you can. Fantastic to have virtually full coverage and great trails.

Fair to good condiions when I arrived at 2:00. Jerry had spent three hours scarifying. He skied with me for a few minutes and was dissatisfied, climbed back on the sled, went over it several more times, then switched to pulling the Tidd Tech, and by the time I left at 4:00 it was good to very good. Full coverage, hard surface, but now there's transformed snow that one can push off of. Classic tracks are glazed, need more snow for those.

Most of the trail system has been groomed with multiple passes. Nothing was done to the classic tracks, but the skate lanes that were groomed are in good to very good condition.

Dusk/ 5PM: Trail seemed to hold up well today. Skating surface hard packed and fast with decent control. Overall, great B skiing with good coverage in fields and some thinning (debris) in wooded areas. What a pleasure to be out skiing in the CLCF microclimate - Thanks Jerry!

Mid-afternoon skate ski, excellent conditions. Skate deck firm but no ice anywhere (except parking lot, careful there!), easy edging. Ample coverage, little to no debris, no worries using A skis. Many thanks for great grooming.
