Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
The skate lanes were fast and fun with enough snow for control. Grooming plan: The skate lanes will be re-groomed Sunday morning about 8 a.m.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Skied this morning at 9am after Jerry groomed all the eastern trails and one small loop in the forest. Jerry was able to scrape the surface (and shoveled snow into the trail in some areas) to create an excellent skate deck. Highly recommend getting out! Striding track is icy.

Skies a classic loop with my Twin Skins. Old icy tracks and the purchase by the skins was marginal at best. Fast double poling and skiable but you really want to go skiing to enjoy the otherwise beautiful trail system.

Firsthand: Freestyle Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
There's still quite good skating at CLCF as well as old but stable classic tracks. Jerry did an excellent job this morning of scratching up the surface of the prairie trails and the first loop in the woods. He'll be back out tomorrow morning. There are a couple of moderately icy spots, but they're just patches and hardly noticeable. Come on out and give us a try. No charge, free parking, outhouse. If you like what you ski, join the club next year!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
The skate lanes in the upper and lower fields and the first loop in the woods were groomed this morning. Currently, light flurries are filling in the classic tracks which were icy.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
The skate lanes in the upper fields and the first loop into the woods were groomed and required many passes with the scarifier and Tidd-tech. Nothing was done with the classic tracks. There was a skier using the classic tracks and said they were OK.

Perfect classic tracks tonight. Deep and well formed. Very clean with little or no debris. Great grip with skin skis. Perhaps a little soft and not real fast but still a beautiful dusk ski on perfectly set tracks.

Great conditions persist at 4PM: firm base with soft cover for good control. Classic lanes looked firm and in good shape. Just plain fun!

Trails remain in great condition! Good coverage and nice firm skate deck. The classic tracks are nice and firm and deep. Plenty of snow on the downhills to control speed.
