Well designed trail 2 miles north of Grand Marais. Dependable classical and skating grooming by dedicated ski club. Gentle rolling beginner and intermediate terrain through birch, aspen and pine forest with expert options. Nice overlooks of North Shore far below. Separate snowshoe trail. Public warming building. 1.6 K lighted xc trail on each night.

Skied the three snowmen loops. It was such a fun ski. Tracks fairly well set, but blowing wind has covered them a bit. No ice. A sunny day and the wind settled down. So grateful to have this wonderful ski day. Thanks to the groomers.

Despite the cold temperatures and wind, both the skate deck and classic tracks were in great shape (they had just been groomed). Really fun trail with some fantastic views.

New snow in the last 24 hours was 1.5 inches, with 12.5 inches in the last 7 days. The trail base is 6-10 inches. East and West Overlook, Stadium, Upper and Lower Snowman, B&B, and Pincushion Loop have been regroomed for skate and classic skiing. Overall conditions are excellent.

Outstanding conditions today. All trails appear to be Piston Bully groomed with deep set classic tracks. With a fair amount of new snow the skate deck appeared a little soft but should firm up. Virtually no debris on trail. Good job groomers!

Conditions are the best they've been all season. Tracks are deep and stiff and skate deck is firm while also forgiving enough to tap the brakes. Great glide and consistent kick with skin skis. One of those days when I feel like if it was the last time I ever skied I would die happy.
