It has been some years since we have been back to the Central Gunflint and Golden Eagle Lodge and I am not sure why we waited so long. Ski trails are perfectly groomed with great glide and firm landings. Beautiful long downhills, perfectly groomed for speed and fun. Grooming is regularly done, all the trails are accessible. Beautiful scenery and the lighted trail at Golden Eagle- Wolf Ridge was magical all three nights.

Today we groomed the south side trails: West End Logging Camp, Upper Beaver Dam, Ridge Run, and Moose Pasture. Everything groomed up wonderfully! Trails on this side were still a tad on the softer side from the previous grooming, but they should solid up nicely. North-South Link was also groomed, though the lake sections are blowing in a lot today. Grooming plans: We'll groom the whole of N-S Link again tomorrow morning.

We groomed several north side trails again this morning, ones that have south facing hills or got particularly heavy use yesterday: Logging Camp, Cross Fox, Moose Ridge, and Red Pines. Grooming turned out great!

We groomed everything again this morning, packing in further the final total of 12 inches of snow received from the blizzard Thursday night. With cold temps this morning, the trail base and skate deck set up really, really nice. The classic tracks set great as always. Fantastic skiing out there right now!

We have received about 10 inches of new snow overnight and this morning - more is still coming down. We have groomed the north side trails and are out on the south side now. With the volume of snow received, expect the skate deck to be on the softer side today.Grooming plans: We will groom everything again tomorrow morning to firm things up further. Its beautiful out there!

We groomed the north and south side trails this morning. Despite the warm weather the last few days, cold temps overnight allowed for great grooming conditions this morning. Trails groomed up really nice. Expect fast conditions since we had to recycle base for this recent grooming. We are still rocking over a foot of trail base yet so no issues there. The lake crossings have not been groomed yet since they are done with the snowmobile groomer. We need it to warm up a bit more before we can rip into it. Until then, that small section will be a bit icy.

We groomed the north side trails this morning. They turned out really nice and buried a lot of the debris that started popping back through the last couple days with the warmer weather. Despite the warmer temps, we are still going strong! We are experiencing your typical spring/March conditions right now. With this, you will likely see some icy conditions right off the bat in the morning, but things will become softer as the day progresses. We will continue to groom overnight or during early morning hours as temperatures allow.
