We were out touching up the ski trails this morning after the busy weekend. Conditions are still really good with a solid base and no ice. All of the trails are groomed with a skate deck and classic track. This morning we groomed Big Pine, Little Pine, Overlook, Lower West End, River Run, Warren's Road, Cut Across, Short Cut, Power Line, Aspen Alley and Rabbit Run. Grooming plans: We will be back out soon to finish the rest of the trail system.

The whole system is groomed and ready for the busy weekend! Lots of moose tracks activity on Highlands, Ham Lake and Northstar trails. All of the trails are groomed with both classic tracks and a skate deck. The base is nice and firm without any ice. Really great winter conditions right now. We hope you can come up and explore the trails!

Even with the cold temps, we have skiers out on the trails! This afternoon, we groomed Big Pine, Little Pine, Lower West End, Rabbit Run, River Run, Warren's Road, Cutacross, Powerline, Shortcut, and Aspen Alley. They were all groomed with a classic track and a skate deck. The trails are in great condition and have ample snow coverage. We have been fighting slush and breakdowns on the skate trails, but will have at least a couple of miles open and ready for the weekend. Grooming plans: We are planning on getting out early tomorrow to groom the rest of the system for the weekend skiers.

We were out early getting the ski and skate trails opened up after the fresh snow last night. Big Pine, Little Pine, Lonely Lakel and Amperage are done for the early morning skiers. All are groomed with a skate deck and a classic track. Grooming plans: We plan to get out to do the rest of the system throughout the day.

We were out grooming the cross country ski trails early this morning. North Star and Upper West End were the only ones that didn't get done yesterday. The whole system has been groomed since yesterday's snow event. The conditions are really good right now with good snow depth and no rocks. We got a dusting of snow last night.

What a beautiful snow day! We got way more snow last night than was forecast—about 6 to 9 inches! We got out early this morning and groomed about half the system: Big Pine, Little Pine, Overlook, Highlands, Ham Lake, North Star, and Upper West End. Everything was groomed with a skate deck and a classic track. The snow conditions are prime now. Grooming plans: We will be back out tomorrow morning to finish the other half of the system and will also be working on getting the skate trails opened up again on the lake tomorrow.

Firsthand: Classic [ Trails Open: All, ]

Over the last 2 days I have classic skied all the trails except lower west end. There is about an inch of fresh snow on a firm groomed surface. No issues for dirt or rocks on the majority of trails. I did see a rock on upper west end and North Star trails. I used good skis and did not hit anything. Biggest risk of hitting a rock would be snowplowing on a downhill. I would rate all the trails as very good to excellent except for upper west end and amperage in the low areas and the section of North Star on the east side of the gunflint trail. These sections had more uneven surfaces and brush coming through in the trail.
