Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We finished grooming the ski trail system for the upcoming weekend. This afternoon we groomed Overlook, Highlands, Ham Lake, Upper West End and the lighted trail Little Pine. All of the trails are groomed with a skate deck and a classic track. We are getting a lot of good feedback from our guests on the trails this year. We hope you can come up and enjoy the winter before it's gone!

This morning we groomed Overlook, Rabbit Run, Aspen Alley, Warren's Road, Power Line, Cut Across, Short Cut, River Trail, Lower West End, Big Pine, Little Pine (our lighted trail), Lonely Lake and Amperage. All of the trails are in great shape and are groomed with a skate deck and a classic track. We also cleared the skating loop on the lake. The ice is holding up well with lots of people out using the trails.

All of the trails are groomed with classic tracks and a skate deck. We had a couple of inches of fresh snow yesterday morning. The trails are in great shape. Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We were out this cold morning to touch up some of the trails. Overlook, Rabbit Run, Aspen Alley, Warren's Road, Cut Across, Power Line, Short Cut, River Run and Lower West End. All of the trails were groomed with a classic track and a skate deck. We have great snow coverage on the Gunflint Trail and the trails are grooming up really nice. The skate trails were also groomed this morning. With light winds they should be in great shape for a few days. Grooming plans: We plan to get out tomorrow morning to finish up the system.

Great skiing out of the Gunflint Lodge this week. Trails were all open and beautifully groomed for skate and classic even right after the several inches of new snow on Thursday. We trained my new dog to skijor on Amperage! Nordic skating on the lake was an added benefit and the snowshoeing was a lot of fun too. Thank you, groomers, for an all around fun, active few days on the north shore trails.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Really, really nice conditions on the Upper Gunflint. We skied Wednesday, Thursday and Friday on various trails, including Amperage, Highlands, Aspen Alley and Rabbit Run. Lovely snow on all of them, all recently groomed for skate and classic. It looks like winter is supposed to look up there! We also ice skated the skate trail that the Gunflint Lodge folks are maintaining on Gunflint Lake. We used Nordic skates. The ice is not perfect but very skateable.

Grooming

We groomed the basin loop this morning. Overlook, Rabbit Run, Aspen Alley, Warren's Road, Cut Across, Power Line, Short Cut, River Run and Lower West End. All were set with a skate deck and a classic track. The snow coverage is really good and the skate deck and tracks are setting up really nice. The whole system has been groomed in the last three days with a skate deck on all trails and classic track and are ready for the busy weekend. In addition to the ski trails we have about 10k of skating trails cleared and groomed for skating. We rent Nordic skates which are longer skate. Loaded that use Nordic bindings and skate ski boots.
